Wow, for exactly the same amount of money, I could upgrade to a better turbo? I can't imagine not getting the ATT if mine goes bad. (Secretly kind of hoping for turbo failure.)

Not so sure about the same $$$$...:D

And for the small print.....

Notes: Requires a refundable $500 core deposit. Mounting hardware not included....& they are a Reman...):h not so shinny

HMMMM, basically same price, a reman, runs higher egt's, higher BP, waste gate- it all adds up to a poorer functioning turbo than ATT. lets not forget that the att is rebuildable once the kit is in. get a better turbo and sell the GM, IMO. PLUS you get actual support and feedback from members here.

Hey Doc Dray how is your ATT testing going ?

Doc was making some hauling runs, I don't know if he is back from them yet. If we don't hear from him I will call him. How a bout Matuva? I think he improved his city fuel mileage a couple of miles to the gallon. That's good I think:eek:

Does anyone have an ATT on a truck with 4:10 gears and a 4l80e. Was wondering what the increase in millage and power is. I think there was someone that had this combo but aftrer reading this thread i think i'm in overload with so much information. :willynilly:

I'll let you know at the end of summer 09 :)

I hear I'm on the list for the next one out of the shop. I'll let you know the difference as I'm gathering data now. Making the Portland-Seattle Slog runs now for a base line (empty). Hope to get a baseline with the trailer at 9500# in the next couple of weeks, although I have two 1000 mile trips at 19k combined showing ~10 mpg.

Then the ATT gets mounted and we do it all again for some "after" data. Hope to have an answer for you by the end of April.

I make a run Ms to Ga and return just about every week 430 miles 1 way, 3:73 rear with 4L80 used to only get 360-375 miles to tank with GM-8 turbo running mostly at 2200 rpm, now am getting 400-430 miles to a tank running out of fuel running mostly 2500 rpm with ATT, 26gal fuel tank, every user thus far with the ATT is reporting mpg & power gains. Slim Shady is running 4:10 with manual trans also seeing mpg gains.

I have the ATT with 4.10 gears and the 4l80e. My mpg went up approx. 2 mpg. Towing power is up as well with lower EGT's. Leo

TD, used to run 2200RPM, but now you run 2500RPM, does that mean you went from driving 65 to 80mph and still getting more MPG?

Yeah baby :driving: get outta my way :driving: when I 1st put it on I drove the original 2100-2200 rpm and was getting 18-22 mpg, I imagine at 65 mph if my truck cruise control would let me :D ("I can't drive 55") I would routinely get 20+ mpg.

Really looking to get some big gains on the burb once I install one on it my Burb with 3:42 at 75mph avg gets 20 mpg with just Heath HP4-DP-TM-exhaust mods only.

That was with IC in the picture as well, I guess next time I run home I need to make a economy trial now that IC is off of the truck.

I do have a 4.10 gear set and have averaged a 2 MPG increase in all around driving. I get 18 to 19 consistent at 2368 rpm 69 mph, and that is better than my previous 15 - 16 with the gm 8. Just got to keep my foot out of it. :rolleyes5: Boost is much smoother and more consistent than the gm -8 turbo.

I just made the run home Ga to Ms keeping to speed limit or just above it all way home 2200 rpm max most times around 2100-2150; some small hills/long uphill grade but mostly flat grade, this is 1st time I've made that run without stopping to add fuel to the tank, normally 80 miles from home I add 5 gal to get me home from spare can I carry in bed of truck, at my normal driving speed 2500rpm at 400-415 miles I start sputtering on hills as fuel sloshes away from pickup tube in tank, so I add the 5 gal to get me home the final 15-30 miles.

This time keeping to speed limit; not only did I drive without filling, I had driven to 450 miles with fuel gauge showing between 2 red marks of E and just below/touching the 1st red mark @ 1/8 tank remaining, I had some running around to do, and did not want to stop at a expensive fuel stop, so I dumped in 5 gal of my 80 gals of $1.75/gal discounted fuel I got in Ga, and drove around. I had wanted to drive to sputter which I guess from past guess-timates should have been around 470-480 miles, but I was in time pinch and did not want to run out of fuel running errands, discretion being better part of valor I dumped in the 5 gal.

When I did fill up, I had gone the 480 miles 3/8 tank showing on gauge with the 5 added gal , taking that into account plus what I pumped in to full where nozzle kept clicking off, I used 23 gal for an mpg of 20.869565................ or 21mpg basically. On return to Ga Monday, depending on my schedule, I'll maybe drive a little slower. This was with no a/c (broken line) and in cruise control, when I 1st put the TD07-22a on it with IC I did record 22 mpg a few times driving 65-70mph, this time driving 70-75 mph I was 21ish mpg with no IC and the ATT.

Does the ATT net you more mpg, for me yes, as was indicated earlier, 360-375 miles was the range of the GM-8 & IC'd setup when running same speeds, my setup is hybrid still & similar to a 6.2, S engine small precups-stock CR-but F engine fueling and intake system, this may be the mpg combination, Slim & myself have some thoughts & experiments we are discussing to see where breakover point is power vs mpg.

....hmmm sounding better and better. Hey Dennis, how's my turbo coming along? :D ..just yanking yer chain.

This seems to lend more credence to the idea of an optimum intake temperature; 150*F as I recall someone saying. I'm thinking it would be interesting to set up a way to control and adjust the intake temp to see approximately where that ideal temperature is. Gadget nut that I am, I've got an 8 channel thermocouple input data recorder that I'm looking at installing on my rig before I get the ATT on it. Just to get a good before and after set of numbers, for entertainment value of course. I'm thinking of the following inputs:
EGT pre turbo
EGT post turbo
IAT pre turbo (ambient or Outside Air Temp (OAT))
IAT post turbo
..anything else you guys want to see? Four channels left!
