Replacement turbo

I was being facetious. But we can talk about something. PM sent.

Back on topic, has anyone heard any news about any progress on a ATT program?

The ATT project is alive and well, we are selling turbos, I am going to be taking advance orders (no money up front) so I have an idea of how many Turbos I will need.

Glad to hear it's still going well Slim. I like mine more all the time:thumbsup:, well when my wife lets me have the truck.:rolleyes5:

Yeah Jim, she likes to get up and go more than I do, and it definitely does that now.

First you have to understand power does not come from boost. Boost is merely a way to get more air/O2 into the equation of combustion. Then power available is a function of work, so the less work the engine has to do the more power is available.

The turbo creating boost at lower backpressures means the engine has to do less work (less fuel combustion) to comlete an exhaust stroke. An exhaust stroke requires that cylinder to compress the exhaust into whatever the backpressure at the turbo is. Combusting fuel in the other cylinders is how that exhaust stroke work is completed.

So lower backpressures is the key here to more power available at lower boost pressures. Lower backpressure also allows about 5% more intake air to enter the cylinder for better combustion, providing a little more efficiency/power.

Well said Buddy!

indeed, quite well said. I just read through this entire thing and can't believe how this all worked out from the accidental find to the completed product being used on several trucks today. Major kuds to anybody and everybody who put time into this project.

Best part is, unlike "the place", this idea is wholly welcome here. I had no clue there was so much behind it all!

Slim / Doc, I'm saving up for this beast of a turbo and altough it won't be immediatly, If you can get a turbo on the side for me, that would be great.

Sad part this project was 1st started there, but when former owners sold the site for profit, vs helping the enthusiast, and current owners also profit motivated vs assisting the enthusiast then myself & some others who were regular participants there ceased our posting. Some say it is same there, it isn't, I would know I was member there since it's inception in 2003, I still am a member (no longer wearing green there) I just don't participate much, I was the Sr. 6.5 moderator there; actually the only 6.5 moderator for a long time, when site was first set up and site emphasis was enthusiasts helping enthusiasts. Nuff said about that.

As for the turbo you'll have to talk to Dennis/Slim I don't have any financial interest in the ATT, it was a good idea IMO that needed somebody to help make it a reality, with my setup and what I tow from time to time I try to explore every power adder that makes sense, the ATT project made perfect sense to me, next production run I'll be adding one to my Burb as well as my truck.

I am glad that the turbo has been welcome at this site. I may have to get a web site to promote it outside of our world, but for now I am hoping to do enough business here to help bankroll the next batch of turbos. That is why I was trying to get a feel of how many turbos I might expect to sell.

I can say that I would have doubted that I would be selling these a few years ago. Like I said if TD had not taken an interest I would have just made a few for me and a few friends and that would have ended the project. I think that the turbo is the best upgrade I have made so far. :D
I couldn't imagine going back to a GM-* after the ATT. I hope everyone else is as happy with theirs as I have been with mine.

after everything I've heard from everybody else, how much they love it, and just the shear difference in numbers from the GM-X to the ATT, you've got me sold. I'm saving up so expect a PM from me sometime in the near future Slim :D

My boost guage started showing funny things last week, and I was thinking to myself, ooh maybe I need a new turbo, and was happy about it , but it turned out just to be the guage getting flaky after about 12 years of oil in the line.

A new gauge deserves a new turbo to go with it.:smile5:

Guys thanks for the support, I will have a few more made, trying to keep costs in check. I appreciate the support, right now there is no place to get an ATT A Team Turbo unless you are a member here. :D
