HX40II Turbo Install

all it takes is A Ateam to arrive at my door, I just towed from NC to Ohio on 77 today, pretty much all mountains from VA North, I could maintain 55 on the worst grades EGTs hit 1150, 3rd Gear on the long pulls, Plenty good for me about 200% better than stock setup, The Turbo Controller I made is working very well about 4 Psi on the level tops out at 18 Psi, I put a softer spring in it before this trip

Yes thats towing 11k 5th wheel Im pretty happy with the controller set up as is, thats about 2200 rpm 63-65 mph, I filled up here in Ohio 286 miles 25.1 gals 11.3 mpg all mountains, not too shaby

Those are SERIOUS hills in there. Good numbers for those kind of roads!

a couple times I had to slow down to about 40 because of slow Semis but was able to gain back to about 50+mph and pass them when traffic cleared, I had alittle left but didnt want to push the EGTs too high, I was able to go by a newer Powerstroke with a similar trailer by Fancy Gap I told the Wife to get the camera out but she wasnt quick enough lol

I've said it before, these trucks when modified right are capable of pulling a load as well as some of the modern stuff. That is, within our actual weight capability.

What are the odds of seeing a TTS member from NC driving through my old stompin' grounds? (Better than the MegaMillion lotto for sure)

That's awesome that you saw me wave, I was headed into that blind underpass so I was looking 'that way' so I didn't see you wave- but that's ok!

Im Going to order the hx40wii on monday, i just wanted to make sure before i buy it that no one has had anyproblems with this turbo or had a problem with their engine after they installed the turbo, i plan on setting the waste gate at 15 psi do you think my engine should handle it fine, it has like 250,000 miles, oil is black, and i run synthetic oil and change it every 3000 miles.

15 is just a touch higher than I would run it on a 250,000 mile rotating assembly....

You will be fine at 15 psi, I havent heard of anyone's turbo taking a crap yet, Your engine will love it
