Found a k3500 ecdrw

You truly see the potential in your vehicles. I bet that Tahoe was quite a ride too.

Looks fantastic!

You've done more in 2 weeks than I did in the first 2 years of having mine :)

Kenny, the dually looks great.

If that's to be your Tow rig, that stock exhaust has got to go IMO.

You have it registered yet?

the dually looks awesome! As far as wheels, go alcoa aluminum! looks awesome, and reduce weight, rather than add, like simulators do.

I would paint those wheels gloss black then put the beauty rings and center caps back on. Looks gorgeous that way. I am doing that to my 82 dually, I think it looks way better than simulators. If you do buy simulators get the bolt on kind. The snap on ones fly off. And get stainless, the chrome plated ones aren't worth a damn. Somebody around here had some sick aftermarket dually wheels on craigslist for $400, they were on there forever. I can check, see if I can find them again.

I like the step bars, just got some for mine recently. I was lucky, they came off a truck with a bodylift, and the guy had modified the mounts so they look right, not hanging way down.

I'm liking that truck a lot. Personally I much prefer the Chevy grille, especially during those years, but it's a matter of preference I guess. I think the chrome makes it look more classy, and the GMC grill makes it look more like a plain old work truck.

Mine had those same mirrors when I got it (probably still have them somewhere) I had to take them off because I couldn't stand looking at them. Of course, looking at three holes in the door isn't pretty either. I put plastic upholstery trim plugs in the holes, but they are getting pretty rusty and look bad now. I put on some cheap Cipa sport mirrors which look real good, but the are too small to be effective. I was thinking about putting some black 2005 gm west coast mirrors on, but ended up getting a good used set of doors I'm painting black. They came off an 88-89 so they have the old stainless silverado style mirrors, which I think look good and are big enough to work good, but I'm afraid it's going to make my truck look even older than it is. Oh well.
Anyway, be careful not to hit anything with those mirrors, because they tend to dent the doors when you do. That's the main reason I don't like them.

Yes they suck. But its what I got, and havn't found a sure type replacement. I've always LOVED the 99ish style FORD mirrors with the blindspot built in underneath the main mirror.

You should be able to easily grind down and bondo those holes in the door to eliminate rust. Those dumbo mirrors will eventually rot out, as they install them wihtout ever removing the inner door panel, they drill a hole, insert the anchor and then fasten the mirror. Mine just rotted out the bottom brace, which is why I did the rework yesterday.

They still suck, don't get me wrong, but its always fun when traffic cops stand way to close and you give them a nice slap in the face with the dumbo ear :)

My Tahoe had the same mirrors. I'm used to them. I would take them off during non camping season and use regular ones. I still have them. Guy who bought the Tahoe didn't want them.

Hey watch it! I don't think it's the traffic cop standing too close, it's the guy driving too close to him. Have fun grinding down and bondo-ing the bullet holes in the back of your truck so they don't rust;>

It's easier, faster and more cost-efficient to replace the whole doors than to try to fix three rusty tweaked holes. I could grind them down and fill them, but on a shiny black truck you'd always be able to pick them out.

:) Sorry Dan! You have it easy with 3 holes, my mirrors have 3 in the door under the window, one about 15" inches down, and 2 more above the window!!! For a total of 6 holes per door!

You are right about always seeing the patchwork, on my truck patchwork just blends in.
