Found a k3500 ecdrw

Buttoned up the Dually tonight. Took it for a ride all paraniod that something will be wrong with it. So far so good. I thought I heard a slight stumble once at idle but maybe I didn't . It seems to run fine. Next weekend I'll tackle the ex leak, DP and crossover, new glows and injs. I treated it to a car wash. Defintely takes some getting used to driving. It should be no problem I have driven lowbeds oil trucks dump trucks etc but I think when you sit in the dually you get in the mindset of a reg pickup and easy to forget those wheels are stickin out.

Also Wide GM's are tough to drive because they are so low. Larger trucks like your L8000's sit high, so your mirrors will go over most other vehicles out there, My truck with the big dumbo ears was the toughest vehicle for me to get use to. Low and wide with protruding mirrors.

As for the dually beds... those fenders are always getting torn off! Doesn't help that they are fiberglass either.

Fenders dont stick out more than the mirrors do.

They may if you have them folded inwards (as Kenny's were when I was there), allowing you to kind of see over the fender, instaed of around them.

I assume most people smack these up by either backing up without using the mirrors (turning around), or by making sharp, tight corners. Big long truck has a decent amount of pivot on the rear axle.

Will look really nice tinted windows. I think the Bug deflector and the window covers would look sharp.

Are you planning on selling your old skins or you saving them for your other 10 vehicles? :)

Why you want them ? The fronts are crap but the rears could run a little longer. Give me a few weeks. As long as the truck doesn't turn out to be a rag you can have them. If it blows up, they are going back on...:D

The low beams are horrible on this thing. I think it's because the lenses are clouded beyond belief. Where do you get those pimp lookin euro ones ??

Yeah saw some threads on wetsanding and polishing. Looks like a PIA and mine are beyond shot. Good thing about summit is if I order today they will be here by Monday.

No rush, I don't need em anytime soon, but those are right up my alley. Just don't toss em.

But I'll get em when you pull em so they aren't in your way.

I like my tires like I like my women, Worn and Bald!

You know, Keystone is right in Manchester CT where I work. Screw it , I'll just run over there and get new stock ones. From what I have read the Projector ones are crap and the diamond ones aint much better.

If they're plastic lenses try Meguire's Mirror Glaze #17 cleaner, followed by #10 polish. Use a slow speed drill with a buffing pad, don't let the plastic get hot. You won't believe they're the same lenses afterwards. Works really, really well. (Shake the bottles thoroughly before dispensing.)

Hey Kenny,

Try this kit out by 3M.

I've used it and it works wonders for The $20 or so price tag that most stores have.

It takes about 10 minutes per headlight. The last set i did was on a 97 6.5TD K3500 dump body, and the lights were like brand new.
