A-Team turbo on board

The members here are the best...you guys are testimonial to that...Tech content here in your very own forum is by far the best 6.2, 6.5 on the web...and I'm guessing that is what is scaring the pants off of them there...so they feel the need to use censorship as a means of damage control...

What you guys do on your own time is your business...we will not censor your links to other forums...and we won't ask you to walk on egg shells when it comes to sharing technical content...you guys are a tight knit community...and we get that...looks like that's something the other place will have to find out(or has) the hard way...

Thanks for everything...the support...the tech content...and for being good caretakers of your own home here...

You guys probably hardly know most of the staff here...because you guys are such a trouble free group...we are here for you though if you need us.

I know a handful of you...and I'd like to get to know more of you ...So if guys ever get the urge to poke around in some of our other forums Firearms off topic P&R etc...I'd be more than glad to talk with ya'll...:cheers2:

Thanks for lending me your ears(eyes)

Pepp

BTW: my name is Paul (either is fine by me)

Thanks Paul, it's nice to have the support of the Mods rather than feel like we are being watched.

This thread at the other site http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289406 is an indication of how things are going over there and how they treat members. A couple of us tried to make comments about it and that didn't go anywhere positive. The original topic was about a crank pulley, The mod told us to keep it on topic after Luis kind of lit into them about the absence of some of the old members or he would close the thread. Keeping on topic I posted this "parable", kind of ironic that a day or 2 later the A Team turbo debacle happened over there.

My Crank Pulley was Original Equipment, at it’s center was some very strong rubber that kept it together. The rubber was very strong but had to be flexible to do it’s job. After much use that rubber material at the center went away so the pulley had to be replaced. I was forced to replace it with a newer knock off after market one. So far the replacement hasn’t failed but I doubt that it will go the same distance as the original equipment.

The guys that are here are the rubber at the center of the pulley that went away.

Bob we know the issue, not sure of the question at the last sentence you were asking about, can you clarify please; actually for easier searching later since this is a turbo thread and may be difficult to find later, can you post the question in it's own thread about crank pulleys and harmonic balancers.

I saw on other forum a question posed about ATT's origin with suggestion it was Chinese and that was possibly a negative, I posted this then deleted it as I realized in my post I mentioned several manufacturers that were not paid vendors there and I was not sure if that was kosher with new management there with all rukus the ATT thread there caused:
]

I noticed the negativity also, solely fueled by Administrator. Seems he is playing games. I thought this yesterday, but held it to myself and didn't post here or their about it. China is a HUGE country that manufactures A LOT of things, you can't suggest everything is crap just because it comes from China, or the Wal-Mart return lines would be longer than their check-out lines!

ATT is off the main screen of posts, and everyone will forget about the rukus in short time to come. But, guaranteed, nobody will forget about the ATT.

I don't even think its hardly worth talking about what going on over at the Place on this website no need to mess this one up with the crap over there. I still try to help people over there and comment on stuff i know about but u get attacked around every corner over there. All i can say is how happy i found this site to where u can talk freely about stuff and not having to wonder if you saying something wrong.

i am a member and enjoy both sites and I see the maturity level has not been completely restored on either

Yeah I don,t care for the strict search response but it has happened there since I joined.
as with all major changes, time will settle things down. I read a lot of responses on both boards I don't feel are necessary or pertinent to the growth of our 6.5 community

Guys for benefit of the olive branch and letting it die a timely death I think nuff shared on this in 6.5 techie thread that the point has been made over & over with displeasure how it all went down.

Lets move to OT where the 6.5 tech is not pulled into the mire.

Link to further discussion is here...

Hmmmmmm...... might be a little harder to sell the wife on it. But I want it!!! I am running 4.10's with a 4L80. If only Diesel was still $5 a gallon it would be so much easier!

I changed from 410's to 373's recently -mainly for mileage and that I hardly pull over 10k lbs. empty mileage went from 14 to 16.4. have not done a full pull test yet but looks maybe like 12.3 from 11.4(maybe). got the gears for $215. too early on results with ATT:D.

Excellent idea TD.

Any body got plans for their trucks this weekend? I will be removing the obsolete vacuum pump. And I am checking prices for 4 inch exhaust systems online and locally.

Pretty hard to turn other cheek sometimes, & watch older guys & new guys get beat up.

As recipient of much of the villification there I want to thank those of you that took the time to defend the villified there, I started a thread here http://www.dieseltowingresource.com/showthread.php?p=94279#post94279 which requires registration at DTR to view, not trying to hide discussion at all, anyone who joins DTR as member can view fully our comments and opinions.

I request that you post any non germane to the actual ATT tech posts in the OT thread, keeping tech discussion area for just that.

Thank you again for the support.

Hey Tim or Slim ever think about making custom headers ala Heath and putting on ATT's? Bet that thing would scoot down the road pretty darn good !! Or blow up trying.

At one point I was looking at 3.73's from a member in California, but the shipping would have been more than the parts! My issue is I have to do both front and the rear. And of course, I have to get approval from She Who Must Be Obeyed before I drop more than say $100 on the truck.

Well my TD07 is there now, Slim sent a upper intake and plumbing to make it a bolt in, got to get with Bill to see if he's had chance to do it. Hoping he finds some viable program tweaks, to enhance the benefit. he was very up front with me that if he considered it to just be a mediocre or no gain, he would let anybody asking after he ran it in on his findings.

I told him I would expect nothing less, or want any special treatment because of our friendship over the years. Same deal I made with Slim when I bought my TD07, and then ATT, if it was junk world would hear my honest opinion on it. More commentary in the OT thread.

I believe he has had a lot of issues at the other site and knows the bread and butter on this site was at one time the bread and butter at the other site. But, I could be wrong. It is always better out of the horses mouth! (on bob) (this one grows fast)

Anyways, Has anybody put one of these turbos on a Mechanical 6.5TD yet?

If so how did it do?

How about a test with it on a manual trans? How did it do?

I want one but, on my measly pay and one on the way I can't afford it right now.

Thanks,
