A-Team turbo on board

Hey Chris... what good is 1000 miles of flat prairie if you can't wind out your truck on it, eh?

LOL

You should hear the exhaust drone at 3500+ RPM in OD with the converter locked.....the wife hates it...

HUH????

I CAN'T HEAR YOU HON.....YOU GOTTA YELL LOUDER!!!!

119 was max I ever had mine with GM-8, 116 with the Buckstop bumper addition, 3400 rpm rev limit, but have added ATT and walbro now, have not found safe place to try to go faster, and after me breaking a front axle episode last fall I'm kind of scared to push it that hard, was scary enough at 30 mph, at full speed could be fatal.

Guys I just got the 6.2/ 6.5 tech manual. I would like to put on a sticky. So that everyone has access to it. If I cant get it to upload I like to sent a copy to one of the mods so they can post.

The news about the ATT is getting better everyday! This is just awesome...now if I could convince the wife about getting one! ):h

I was too. Now I know she can reach the speedo top speed, I don't think I will try it again.
Was just to know, nothing else to gain...

One thing I've learned about high speeds and pickup trucks, it only takes one time to fry your brakes slowing down, and once they get hot, push on them as hard as you can and it won't help any, trust me.

I am officially sold on the ATT. Once I do some dyno testing with my intake and the GM-8 turbo, I'll be getting an ATT, and then more dyno testing, mwahaha.

Sounds like smoke fade on the brakes.

Ive been wanting somone to do a dyno on a gm8 and then with a ATT.

I have 4.1 rear end and with ATT i reach 3500rpm in od really fast. ATT really wakes up 6.5TD engine to life, really fun to drive, homever i should change torque converter because my TCC has always been weak, couple years ago it shuttered sometimes, thats lost, but now i can get it to slide just by pressing pedal on 4th if i have heavy load or big hill.. I have been thinking that hughes diesel converter, does anyone have any experience or opinions from that ?

First I will be performing a strict highway fuel mileage test with the new GM-8 turbo, Turbo-Master, and stock intake.
Then I will dyno with the new GM-8 turbo, Turbo-Master, and stock intake.

Next I will dyno the new GM-8 turbo, Turbo-Master, and my custom intake manifold.
Following this, I will perform the same strict highway fuel mileage test with the new GM-8 turbo, Turbo-Master, and my custom intake manifold.

Next comes performing the same strict highway fuel mileage test with the A-Team Turbo and my custom intake manifold.
Finally comes, dyno with the A-Team Turbo, and my custom intake manifold.

This will all be done after I get my new 6.5 engine built, and broken it in. I will start a new thread on this once I begin testing, and post the results there.

.

Reason for SSBC twin piston, & slotted disc ceramic pads up front & EGR rear disc on mine, as stopping heavy is just as bad as stopping fast.

Yes, if you look at my '87 GMC in my garage (oops wrong site), major brake upgrades are on the list to be done, among other things, as I will be towing a large goose neck trailer with it, 40'+.

Was supposed to happen this weekend guys but work emergency came up yesterday 15% of workforce my shop laid off, and we are going through restructuring plans, so I had to bow out, I'm sorry I couldn't make it happen, and get you some numbers, my apologies. If you are of the praying kind of person, I'd ask for you to say a prayer for the folks that got impacted, a lot of hurting people these days need our prayers.

Tim... always appreciate all that you have done and found time to help and educate us over the years, please no need to feel sorry or apologise on my account, patience is a virtue...

Yes, will say a prayer, its global...:smile5:

With the lower backpressure using the ATT the engine can turn high RPMs much easier now, which is good for horsepower in OD.

I know, I know, I can't wait either, but with barely enough money to buy the engine, I would only have enough left over to fill it up with fuel once, and do some dyno runs.
I gotta keep most of my money right now until I start working again, so that I can afford to pay my lawyer.
