Walbro-where to buy?

I have the Airtex E3158, it does a lot better than my last LP, but it still barely makes 2 PSI at WOT without my trailer attached. I don't think it's gonna cut it, especially once I put a Racor in (I have no sock, Racor will be in lieu of sock) plus, ATT purchase has just been approved by the MRS. I was D-max shopping, but have decided I want to keep my money and my truck, so the mods will continue.

if you ever use that priming feature, you'll wish you would have bought a self priming pump, yes it primes, but ain't fast

I completely disagree.

My lines were all completely dry for fresh install, and about 3' to the tank from racor. I opened the filter manager bleed on the engine, only took about 8 or so pumps to fill the racor, and another 8 or so for the fuel to start dripping out the flt manager.

Maybe thats why my walbro is quiet, as its never been dry run to self prime.

Everything I read says it takes life off the pump to self prime, even if it is capable of it.

The racor's self priming bulb is great.

Just for FYI, don't ever buy the NAPA 93 K3500 pump (it's a Carter, I don't remember the #), it's worse than a late model stock spec pump, I was pulling serious vacuum with that pump on. Autozone carries the Airtex, so does Rockauto.com.

I completely disagree.

.
We'll I'll trump your disagree with my disagree :D,

I didn't say the racor prime doesn't work, and I do use it even to point of pushing fuel thru to the vent on the filter manager when I do fresh change of filter on the racor, reason I bring it up for the Kennedy pump as a caution if for some reason you lose a suction on the pump (like a sloshing of fuel, or partially snotty filter strainer), you are forced into a reprime situation where a positive pumping pump will keep itself primed better than a kennedy type pump may, my caution is not that I'm recommending that one not prime using the bulb provided.

As for noisy walbro, I don't know the why there, maybe I never will, or maybe our definition of noise isn't the same either, since I'm deaf in one ear, and hard to hear out the other after years of being around jets. :D

My walbro was used but good when I bought it, maybe also damaged and why it makes more noise than yours

OK Update. folks at Pureflow(airdog/Raptor) very good as far as warranty on the LP. I called them w/ serial # around 11 am and a new one is being fed exed at no charge. They do take a cc# until you return the defective one. I want to give a shout to Jim at Upstate diesel for being on top of this as well. So from a customer service warranty point they are great. However if my IP is toast that will leave other issues to be resolved but i won't know how much if any damage until I get the LP installed. Jim at Upstate said he has never seen one fail. Neither has anyone on any of the Dodge forums so it once again proves my bad luck. Look how many people use Heath's cooling upgrade and I had issues. No one should base on my experience cause I am a jinx.
After all this, I may buy a Walbro just to throw under the seat for a spare. I do beleive the Raptor is flow on fail because I drove 200 miles without it. I'll find out for sure. Pureflow didn't immiediatly say, the IP is not there problem so I may have recourse with them but until I change it and clear codes I don't know if thier is IP damage or not. The 2 stroke Oil may have saved it.

Whats wrong with the 93 HO and/or Heath HO.....They both do a good job, if your not drag racing?

They only seem to last short while, and mine rust up after the first winter.

Walbro is cheaper than Heath HO and Delco LP's.

Wouldn't trust a carter/napa/AZ/Advanced.....

NO brainer.

I'm trumped, and you're touche'd!

I read your post wrong... I agree on the self priming pumps necessary after your wise post.

:iagree:

K as far as flow on fail here's the skinny.

All units have a pass through capability. The AD's have a ball in them which stops pass through flow under normal operation. When there is power to the pump the ball is pulled into position to shut off pass through flow. When there is no power to the pump, the ball will lie in the pass through position allowing a pass through flow. The design of the Raptor does not include the ball. It has pass through capabilities whether the power is on or the power is off.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of further assistance to you.

Thank you.
