Walbro-where to buy?

Among my veggie friends, a Raptor pump is very well respected. Many have purchased and they work wonderfully for 180 degree lard! So they should be fine for your ULSD.

speaking of you "veggie" guys.....is there a good forum or site, for biodiesel/veg oil conversions with the 6.5?

I believe this is what Turbine doc has done, using the stock LP as well

That is my set up exactly, was going to add in a separate check but since the pressure of the Walbro is in similar pressures of the OEM style pump I figured check valve would not be needed as check valve built into the OEM would survive max output of the WBro.

So apparantly you can just get a stiffer spring for the Walbro and its then a 65GPH flow, so if there is an issue at 117MPH, you might need the new spring. And if the gearing in the truck was more like Heaths it would easily be going faster with less RPMs and lower fuel consumption.

I have a 1 psi drop on my Walbro, from 4 to 3 st WOT from a starting point and at interstate speed, but I havent taken it over 100MPH with this config yet while having a visible pressure gauge.

I removed the coil inside the filter manager that goes around the fuel heater to try to get more flow through.

Well, when I'm wrong about something I admit it and I wwas wrong about this. I had problems with the Raptor. It's two weeks old and died on me in PA. I most likely killed the two week old IP so now I have a worthless POS on my hands. Just a FWIW. Don't buy it buy the Fass if going this route. I'm so screwed I don't know what to do aat this point. I guess just trade the Sh^tbox in on what ever I can get. Probably a newer Honda for my wife and I'll be drving her old one for awhile. You guys can now enjoy taking jabs. I should have kept what I had. Now I'm broke and probably will be dieselless for awhile thanks to something I actually thought was good.

Slow down, pal... need to find out what went wrong, what damage it may have caused, what warranty and support you'll get from the vendor and manufacturer, etc.

The pudgy broad has not yet warbled her tune ... details first. Despondence, if required, later.

well, not that this is a Dodge forum but it's throwing bad IP codes and I tested the LP. It's dead. went 200 miles with it dead. VP44 dies very quickly with low FP. Bless the DS4. it's a way better IP.Typical scenario for Dodge although Dodge is not to blame here, Yhe pump that failed is. when you pay 400$ for something that is suppsedly the best so this doesnt happen and it does like this, well you get pretty PO. I'm not a wealthy guy. I'm gonna take a serious beating. I miss my Tahoe and PU so much right now. I'll probably take a huge betaing and trade the truck in for whatever I can get and get a newer Honda for the wife and start looking for another 6.5 Tahoe or Burb after I sell her old one . I ain't got much left to spend though.

I'm not saying you didn't get a bad one Kenny...I just hear about so many people that are extremely happy with their Airdogs that I find it hard to believe that they are all junk...could that dealer have installed wrong or something else?

The twin pumps I run on my Dmax are Laing pumps and they are flow through...a feature I don't think I would ever not have on my truck...I didn't know the Raptor and such were not flow through...Sorry to hear about your woes and I hope you can diagnose this as something different...

You would think that they would have some kind of bypass in them. Even if they have complete confidence in the pump, there's always a chance of some electrical glitch stopping the pump. Not very well thought out for the money they get.

I am not sure if it's flow on fail but it might be cause I drove 200 miles with 0 fuel pressure so maybe it is. Problem is a DS4 can take that. a VP44 cannot which is why I spent 400$ for it. Not happy. Not happy at all. we'll see how good thier rep is tommorow. See if they offer to pay for my toasted IP. I put the Raptor on at the same time IP was done. I checked everything. It was installed properly. Dieselcash was right. I'll admit when I'm wrong.

Didn't you say you installed a fuel pressure gauge in that? ..

Nonetheless man, horrible news.............

I trust no replacement parts lately..... seems everything sucks.

Hopefully when fuel pressure is restored IP codes will go away..........

Maybe 200 miles isn't enough to kill... maybe it takes a few thousand... Fingers crossed.

Kenny, if vendor takes care of the repair lift & HP pump, consider a GM type pump as backup so it will flow on fail, and also can be plumbed/wired as a "get home" pump bypassing the raptor if need be
