So, exactly who makes the ATT?

That I don't have other than to say similar to the TD07 but ATT is zippier on bottom end than the TD07 sorry

I am waiting for the return of my ATT, should be this week. Ready for more life to return. And ready to pull the Racer to Bonneville and to show the difference between a (modified) GM-8 and the ATT! A few hills between E-burg and the Salt Flats to try. Ist one is just 5 miles long!

Now you are just being argumentative BT, I have posted gains and how I recorded them so a "Real Test" , Leo & others have posted their "real tests", you are the only one reporting no change which would tend to indicate the difference to the population results resides in some difference with your truck.

Those of us reporting improved mpg have no dog in the fight as to sale of the ATT or reason to report mpg gains we are seeing, as you know your vehicle/driving habits, we know ours, and if it takes less trips to the pump than before then that is an improvement.

As far as a 10 mpg 6.5 yes, early on was a 6.5er with mpg that low, tried a ATT to improve the mpg, it improved a little to 12-13 then they had catastrophic engine damage wholly unrelated to the ATT install.

If your engine has under lying issues the ATT because it is right at edge of being too big of a turbo any dormant problems will soon show their head. Remember without a WG you aren't artificially building boost energy on bottom end by putting a potato in the tail pipe making the turbo spool up.

From what I'm reading I suspect 2 burbs set up just like yours, with ATT or GM turbo we would see the slight difference in performance.

Out of curiosity what is the TDCO of the 2 different vehicles in your stable now ?

TDCO of the '95 is set at -1.94 by myself w/ GMTD Scan Tech under advise of DTR here.

TDCO of the '99 reportedly set at -1.94 by prior owner. Do not have the two way scan to do this and am open to advise.

Overall, I'd say the mileage is close with the '95 being slightly better. I will continue to observe this over time. I just know it's not the 1 to 3 mpg gain.

No question the performance is there and the engine runs much cooler on tows. That alone is worth the ATT, not to mention deleting the vac pump and the junk that goes with that. There is an ATT in the '95s future.

My mpg around town back and forth to work didnt help with the ATT. Thats speeds up to 55mph. I would say thats because I Many 94/95 owners report better mpg than newer guys. It may be due to higher compression, lighter trucks, whatever, just notice that often. I think in 96 they dropped the compression from 21.5:1 to 20.5:1

Now that I can understand and agree with. The mpg difference at higway speeds 70+ is marginal. At lower speeds the mpg difference is a bit more than marginal.

BigT - I am curious, what is your normal coolant temp on the 99?

1/2 a tick above 185 is the norm. Highest temp I've seen is a hair above 210 on a tow at 40 to 45 mph up to Big Bear Lake with a max elevation gain of 5600' ambient temp starting at 75 and declining to 65.

are you guys afraid to admit outsourced, ie. made in china?

BigT, do you have a plastic DMax fan on the 99, or at least compare blades on the two, 95 might only have 6 and your 9. The fan clutches might be different, maybe you have the spin on kind.

I noticed when I went from my stock fan to the DMax fan it pulls a lot more air even at idle, before the clutch even egages. Thats a drag on the engine too, and I think I lost some MPG from it.

  :drama:

I installed a super duty clutch and nine bladed metal fan recently and have noticed a loss in MPG of 1 to 1.5 MPG on the last three tanks. While not conclusive it is at least something to look at. My mileage has been consistent until recently.

I notice the fan stays engaged more than the stock viscus clutch did.

its the first thing I ever bought from China that wasnt junk. everything I buy at walmart is cheap junk made in China by child labor, but what do you expect from little kids earning a cup of rice a day. But the turbos are a lot more expensive and a lot smaller volume demand than flipflops so the quality control hasn't gotten that bad yet. But beware, if walmart were to start carrying A Team Turbos, they have the economic might to have them mass produced in China at the hugest cost-cutting imaginable, at the expense of quality. So a walmart turbo for $29 would not in fact be a very good deal.

Relax guys... He's a new mod over at DP- just barely got rid of the downy 'probie' feathers. This must be some sort if new guy initiation exercise.

Hey diaric... Come armed with more than that next time, ok? You're making us Alberta boys look bad in front of the Yanks.

Now that wasn't nice alberta boy. I've read stuff on here for a long time. Just didn't see a reason to sign up till a few guys were ***** footing around about where the turbo was made. I haven't bashed it, just made a point. I was actually interested in it when my gm-3 crapped out, till I realized where it was made
