Resurecting New Engine

Just got the rebuild kit for the turbo! This kit came from CA to NY in 2 friggin' days! Very happy.
Working on getting an in/lb torque wrench.
And trying to find time with all the accident crap going on.

Got the trans, got the in/lb torque wrench. Got some work done over the weekend. Drilled the manifolt to crossover bolt out, tried easy out again. (3 different bolts ive tried this tool on, sucks!) So i ended up drilling out and re-threading. Chased all the other threads out with the tap also. Minus the turbio oil return/intake everything else is bolt in.

The trans currently resides under the truck again! My brother helped me get the trans hooked back up to the engine, transfer case bolted on and sealed, new trans mount and cross over back on. Took some pictures but forgot my camera in the garage.

I am going to put Dex 6 in instead of 3. Filled the torque converter with it already before sliding it on the trans shaft.

Got a little more work done on the rig. All electricals are hooked up, trans shift linkage is in but i still need to get new pins. I have seemed to "mis-place" my crossover pipe for the exhaust. I have a feeling it went to the scrap yard on my brothers last trip, so i just ordered another off ebay, this time a two piece unit, so i dont have the fitment issues of the warpspeed 1 piece unit.

Some overdue pictures.

Got the turbo for the most part installed. Anyone care to give secrets on how they ran the oil return line? Fabricating isnt easy without a welder. I think my best bet is to find some type of material that can be bent easily. I would love to use an stainless line but i dont have the money or time to wait for it.

I got my crossover pipe today. It is the two piece style, which i wanted to get instead of the 1-piece. Hopefully this unit will fit better. Upon opening it all up it included the two sections of pipe, and two hardware kits with donut gaskets and studs with springs. They forgot to package the lap joint kit to secure the two pieces of pipe together and cleanly. I wrote them an email, hopefully the right the situation. I dont want to just put a muffler clamp on it, too cheesy. The lap kit would look nice and clean, and those aren't cheap! Im wondering if i should use the studs or just replace them with metric bolts? Whats the census?

Here are a few pictures of turbo install.

Once you crimp your pipe with a basic ex clamp, your xover kinda is not a two piece anymore me thinks..

I found some flange bolts with a 15mm hex to work with my warpspeed.. It was tight.. Impossible with traditional generic 10mm bolts, they have a 17mm hex.. too close to the pipe.

Turbo should be a welcome change..

Your prolly right on that, if i have to go out and buy a lap clamp they are getting bad feedback from me, running out of time to fart around on this build. Its starting to get cooler up here!

I want to use the studs because they look very strong, however the springs and nuts look cheesy and im sure will rot out fast! If i just use plain metric bolts and one breaks i can drill it out much easier than the hardened studs. Decisions, decisions.

I got a piece of flexible copper line for the oil return that will hopefully work out good. I still need to figure out the turbo to airbox routing, and the cdr location in the intake.

Does anyone have pictures of their HX setups for intakes? Wondering what elbow i should get, id really like to keep my K47 setup also.

Tried to fit the flexible copper return line in. Came out awful. I did not trust it one bit. Just splurged and bought a kit with an fitting and such. Should be here within a week hopefully. Coming from california for 34 bucks. Also got the turbo to engine intake all fabbed up and ready for action.

Pictures from last weekend.
