Resurecting New Engine

ITS ALIVE!!!!!! I have a video, but with the slow internet i cant get it on the tube. So i will try and download it tomorrow to post, priming was nothing, ran rough for about 1 minute then ran great. Had a bad fuel leak tho, that turned out to be a loose injector line at the back of the ip, so i needed to rip the intake off again....

No biggy bro. At least shes firing without any internal interference. Thats the big worry.

Getting those injector lines purged of air can be the longest few minutes in your life when all you wanna here is a startup. Good job.
 
Yeah, the truck is all done, im driving it to school today. The tranny cooler is part of the main radiator. It really needs new batts, im having trouble keeping them charged. Ill do another vid sometime.....

Here are some pics of everything buttoned up, all except for the brush guard... Things still need a good cleaning, but its driveable. Already have 150 miles on it.

Tell you the truth, i dont feel any "extra power", the exhaust tone sounds different since there are no more pre turbo exhaust leaks. Runs awesome. i also put the correct alternator pulley on so my rpm's read correct. I love this truck so much, missed it a lot. Today my unlock buttons on the doors dont work, but the lock function still does, so thats something new to check out. I wish i had a GMTD scan, but i cant afford to spend any more money on this truck for at least a few months. Next upgrade will be a GL4.... I hate it when the torque converter locks in, i can go any slower than 53 to have the converter locked up. Waste of fuel plus it almost feels like it has more grunt locked in than at 2300rpm...
 
I agree about the TCC issue big time.... Way more power locked in at 2k than 2300 unlocked. Wasted energy and mileage for sure.

Yeah leak free all except for the tranny pan. It weeped a little before the rebuild, but i think jacking the tranny up kinda crushed the seal a little more and it leaks a half dollar size circle at night. Havent put the plow on yet for the timbrens, but it definately doesnt bottom out on them. I iwll update the sig now..lol
