New Walbro lift pump 16.5 psi & 50 GPH

Ya some compairisons on actual trucks would be great.

I was thinking would you guys rather I not preinstall the connector? I say this because it limits you to where you can install it. What I can do is supply a pigtail with connector with about 2 feet of wire then you can use crimp on butt connectors or soldier & heat shrink....choice is up to you.

Good point I forgot to mention. I will supply the correct connector making it a direct plug in. BUT, I have a dumb question: Will the orinintation of the plug matter? in other words is one wire hot and one ground? I can go put a test light on my truck to find out, but if someone knows the answer I'll go with that.
The connector is the same one I use on my Metrum Rod FSU

More than likely like any other DC motor it will run in reverse if you hook the power up backwards.

Finally came out! Been waiting along time for this! I hope someone gets one has a fuel pressure gauge!

Makes me wonder if its nothing more than larger ports and stiffer spring. Perhaps they modifiied the pump piece inside a bit?

Would be great leroy to take one apart and take a FRB-5 apart and compare.

Take lots of pics!

I've got one headed my way, my "used but good" FRB-5 will go on the burb in parallel with the GM lift, and this new one will go on the truck, I'll take notes & photos when I do the swap, it may take a while to "git R done" though as it's outage season in energy land I'm on turbine outages for next 2-3 months and won't be home much to play with the truck.

Should not matter for hookup pump is impulse driven diaphragm/plunger IIRC vs rotary vane.

I haven't opened one to confirm it, IIRC MRB has been into one, my FRB-5 it was very obvious which wire is intended to be "hot" it's red and goes into pump motor housing, the black wire is ring lug connected to the case on mine same gnd plane/potential as the pump housing is when bolted to the body of vehicle when mount ears are used in a direct mounting to frame setup is used.

Got your payment today. Everyone has paid now. Some pumps mailed out today, 4 will go out on Monday. Thanks again.

These pumps are reverse polarity protected. So if you hook it up backward nothing will happen.

Got a PM from a member that allready has his pump!!
He said "Got my pump today but says 5psi on side. Is this still the correct pump in different housing or wrong pump?"

My reply:
That was fast!!
Hi, Just got off the phone to Walbro. They said the very first batch of these pumps got out the door with 5psi on them, but be assured they are 15psi with max of 16.5psi.
So it looks like you have a collectors item:hihi:

If you install it and for some reason it is not putting out like you want return and I will refund you.
Leroy

Edit: looks like they left the 1 off of 15 and printed 5psi by mistake.

The pump is a FRC pump (fixed frequency),so it is already a little different than the FRB pumps. The only downside I can see to this is possibly shorter pump life. Externally it is identical to a FRB-5 and would be a super easy swap for people already running one. I am going to scribe a 1 in front of the 5 just to make me feel better.:)

Screwing around last night I hooked pump up to a battery and put a pressure gauge on the output and inlet into a container of diesel fuel. After loosening gauge to bleed and then tightening back down, pump "dead headed"(but still pumping like mad) at 14 psi. Now this was with a 100psi gauge (all I had) and battery read 12.95 volts. With a smaller and presumably more accurate gauge and another volt or 2 it may have been better but is definately in the ball park. I am going to try to come up with a 20 or 30 psi gauge and plumb it in after the fuel manager to test FRB-5 and get numbers before I install FRC-10 to get comparison numbers.

Will be nice to see what psi they are running on the trucks.

Who else got theres? I know usps tried to deliver to AKDD today, but must have missed him. Not sure why they did'int leave it at his house though. I did not request signature on them.

It will be atleast 2 weeks before I get more pumps, but I will be out of town anyway until 17 April. I can possibly get my brother to fill orders for me.

Got mine today! Don't have a failed pump yet so going to wait for some warmer weather to change it out and try to get a prefilter set up as well. Every where I check the Wix 24770 with 1-14 filter threads and 1/2" npt is on b/o. Hopefully they get some soon.

Hey Leroy are these going inline with the lift pump or replacements? Any mounting hardware needed? May have to get one of those bad boys when you get some, I will watch this tread. By the way wheels are loaded!
