New Walbro lift pump 16.5 psi & 50 GPH

I simply removed the two bolts holding the factory LP holder (black plastic). I ran the threaded rod u-bolt through these holes. No drilling. It was all hand tools. So it is mounted in the factory LP location, simple spaced out above the fittings.

The bypass fittings are PERFECT. It is nice knowing I can swap the factory style pump back in with two wrenches if needed. No tthat I forsee that need!

Is the arrow for mounting or just direction for flow? Mine is mounted horizontal and havent had an issue. There was a question a while back if mounting them vertically produced better pressure numbers, but nothing definitive.

I went off the guy who posted the email from Walbro saying horizontal mounting was fine. I dont have a link. Of course, this is a new model, I guess I extrapolated. I would need to get a 90degree mount for the top to mount vertical.

Yes, the FR series fuel pumps can be mounted in either the horizontal or
vertical position

I really like the simplicity of that from what I can see. Is the top (in the pic) mounting tab on the pump also being held down with a nut & washer?
When I get back to the states I will look into providing a mounting bracket also. It would need to be "bolt on" as not everyone has a welder. I would rather see them upright also.

It's those details that'll push the the customer who is "On the Fence" to a sale.....Honestly, what good is the pump if it will sit on the shelf in the customers garage because of limited installation options, whatever they might be....Lack of tools, materials, skill level, time or confidence. Easy installation could in some cases, make the difference between making a sale or not....JMO

Also, Mike's Threaded U Bolt sounds like the perfect option for a quick, neat install.....Couple that with the modifications improvement factor and that makes the product sale, from PMDCABLE.COM a no brainier over any of the other suppliers.....Again, JMO.

Perfect example is Heath's PMD Isolator and Turbo Master.....Bottom line is, "many" people will pay for "easy" versus "difficult" (Labor related).......Plug and Play is "King"

The way I see it is that you already take this into account and try too cater to this market, just from your product inventory, it's geared toward all the above mentioned.....Boost bolt = no drilling, Fuel pressure tap = No plumbing, OPS extension = future OPS encounters "easy", ETC, ETC, ETC.......Again, JMHO.

Kudos too Mike (Chefmike).....You got my attention now:agreed::hello:

Agreed.
The bracket I was using before was simple, but time consuming to make. I like what Mike did and will probably do something very close to that.

Yes. The top and bottom are identical in terms of nut, washer, 1/2" coupling.

And thanks for the feedback, Louis! I am not a mechanic, I just like to tinker, learn and problem solve.

Well mine has been in for a few, Mounted the Racor 490R head with a WIX all in one fuel water separator for now and the pump (vertical 90 fitting at the top) all on one plate and bolted it to a bracket I made to come off the bottom of the frame. Maybe pics in a few days.

THE PUMP SURE IS NICE, SMOOTHED OUT THE TRUCK, guess the old heath pump was going bad, there was fuel in the wiring.

Pics of my install,:D the black thing in the second picture covering the old fuel pump location is my PMD cooler remote mountIMG_4879.jpgIMG_4883.jpg

Slim- filter is AFTER pump on yours? Or am I just not tracing the lines right?

I was thinking to put a 30 micron before the walbro and leave the stock FFM in place.

NO filter is before the pump, 14, micron, look close, the line closest to the pump on the filter is the feed to the pump. The line on the outer most port of the fuel filter is the line in from the tank.

Bottom line on the pump is fuel in: the top of the pump is fuel out to the Injection pump. Nice compact setup.
