Finally left me stranded

Final update, I think. As it turns out, I put two male/female connectors on my relay harness when I made it to make it easier to change out the pigtail if I needed to do so, without cutting the harness. Apparently, over time, those connectors vibrated and became loose to where they didn't connect tightly anymore. Evidently, every time I changed out an OPS or was messing with things around the harness, I made it so those connectors were tight again, by accident. Eventually, though, they always became loose again. I cut those out a couple weeks ago, replacing with a straight crimp connector and haven't had an issue.

In summary, I have what I believe to be a 2 year old good OPS that is in the box for a spare. I have a new OPS on my truck and I have a new OPS still sitting in the box as a spare to my spare. The fuel hose that was cracked must have been where I was getting air into the system, when I was losing prime on the fuel filter. All in all, I like the Walbro pump, if for no other reason, that it's so loud that I can hear it over the engine whether I'm in the cab or standing beside my truck, so there's no doubt when it's running and when it's not.

Much louder pumps than the Walbro out there. What's it mounted to? Mine's pretty tame on the frame.

Mine's bolted to my bracket onto the frame. I bought vibration isolators, but just haven't installed them yet. Right now, I feel it up through the seat. It doesn't really bother me - I know it's working and that's worth more than wondering.

Pretty sure you can get a warning light hooked up pretty easy. I believe they make a pressure switch that closes at 4 PSI and opens at 2.5PSI which would be just about perfect for a fuel pressure warning indicator. you would have to use a relay to reverse the switches output, but thats simple enough to do.

EDIT: did a quick search, and came up with this. Even better solution.

$22 for a switch(I'm sure one can be found cheaper) and a small warning light on the dash VS a gauge that will cost a good bit more and take up alot more space. I personnally like the light myself. It goes along with my gauges, it is a digital set and is VERY small, hence why I keep it. Don't know what I'm going to do if it quits as I HATE big bulky gauges.

I thought this was over, but I was wrong. Pump stopped, again, the other day, while the engine was running. Scratching my head on this one again. If I'm testing my harness, I would simply connect the two outside contacts on the pigtail that plugs in to the OPS, correct? Center is for the gauge?

How many amp relay did you use. I used a 5 or 10 amp the first time on the 1995 TaHOE and had the same issue. I upgrade to a 15 OR 30 amp RELAY and it's been working ever since.

That's why I prefer a mountable relay socket, to a mountable relay. You can just pull the relay out and plop a new relay in

I bought this OPS pigtail:

I'm about to remove the original Chinese OPS pigtail from my harness to add this one, above. The other side of what I suspect could be an issue is the portion I made up using an old OPS, where this part plugs in. Both are shown in this image

Does anyone have a photo of how Leroy's harness plugs into the OPS?

I think his harness plugs into the lp. So if the system isn't working right it won't help until you get it fixed. Once fixed its only the signal for the new relay.

His does plug into the LP harness, but it has to pick up a contact from the OPS, also. I know there is a battery power wire, since there is a momentary switch to prime the filter, also.

I would check for voltage at the lift pump plug first. If it is putting anything out, it should be triggering the relay.

Not sure what you are asking here
