Codes. Truck won’t move

Well I just got a call and there is no stock anywhere in Canada for that solenoid A.

Once it stops raining I’m going to finish with the connectors. Been raining like crazy today

What’s the best way to possibly fix this ground wire. It’s a little distorted and bulged


If I new we’re it went I would just run a whole new line.
Maybe someone has a wiring schematic

This is on the front side frame rail

So I put the harness all back together with new pins


filled it with oil.
Cleared the codes

I put it in reveres it goes into reverse
Clicks out of reverse then back in and stays in reverse. Has line under R

I have no line under D
If it put it in 3,2,1 gear the line is solid goes into gear then goes out of gear and line flashes



I have no codes appearing at all now

Spoke too soon. After shutting the truck down after idling. I went to turn the key on and the light is back.

Hook the scanner up and p0748 is back
But doesn’t say solenoid A

I went in a commanding solenoid A on this is the scanner video

I assume this solenoid A is then the culprit

try getting the OE part number and searching places like summit racing, amazon, and rock auto if no one can get it locally.

And ebay too if none of those other sources has it.
Possibly even a Canadian ebay source might have it.
Just be sure that it is an actual AC Delco part and not some chinese/taiwanese knock off.

I've not heard anyone ordering from ether site, but that is a huge price difference between the two! what is the "normal" price on this solenoid from the auto parts houses or the dealer?

Try contacting Summit Racing and see where they can get one from. they list it on their site for a reasonable price, but not in stock. they have a phone number and I have talked to them in the past on parts. you actually get to talk to a real person with their customer service unlike other places.

they might possibly be able to outsource one for you on top of they stand behind their products too.

Wasn’t able to get one from summit. Got one coming from extreme diesel. Overnight shipped so should have it tomorrow in port Huron.
Confirmed it was a genuine Allison part aswell.

So I didn’t have the key into the detent sprocket all the way. No code for G anymore

Put the pan. Filled it with oil again



I have the donor TCM in from the guys running truck


Going from P to R. It sounds like it slips in and out of gear.

Go into drive and it it goes into gear then few second later you loose gear and the light comes back on

Internal harness
PCS. Switch
External harness pigtail going into the back of trans,
new plug and new terminal ends and leads
Spin on filter
Internal trans filter
Ignition switch
NSBU switch


I’m at my wits end with this

Do you have a new solenoid installed, a new contact group installed in the connector? Have you disassembled the TCM connector?

Set the meter to measure resistance, connect it to pin 22,23 of the TCM connector.
