Well the problem is solved! The small wire was touching the battery cable.
The cable has a tear in it I put electrical tape on it but I think the jacket around the cable burned off. it's not touching the turbo but it is close enough.
Thank you for the help.
it has boost and exhaust temp gauges. I go easy on her I want at least 300k miles hopefully with the same injection pump.
Are there any good after market lift pumps for a 1997 cummins 12 valve that you all know of?
Just got one and I am never going back :D
The previous owner told me that he put in a new clutch after he turned the fuel plate up.
Can it harm the engine to have it turned up or can I just enjoy all the horspower it give the engine?
The wait to start light and the rest of the dash lights have been slow to come on when I turn the key. The problem didn't keep me from starting the truck.
The starter seemed to turn slower and slower then not at all over a few weeks finally it stopped working period.
I took the starter...
Got it out with a screw driver and a liberal amount of wd-40. I was not looking forward to drilling into that bolt.
I got the starter off I only had to take off one bolt (the other one broke off) where does this bracket attach to? I am only looking at the bottom of the starter do I need to...
I bought an easy out but I am looking for something to keep the drill bit on target. Any tips/ideas?
The part of the bolt that is still in is too deep to weld a nut onto it. It does not look rusted but who knows it did break off.
It could be your oil pressure sensor unit. The same thing would happen to me and replacing it solved my problems. The OPSU is in the valley of the engine under your upper intake I think for pre 95 engines it is behind the intake and easier to get to.
When I had a linksys wireless router the only way I got it to work was to unplug the cord in the internet slot and move it over to one of the four slots (ports) on the right. so the cord that goes from the modem to the router is usually in the internet slot but bypass that slot and plug it in...
oh yeah, that was the first thing I did. recently I replaced all the vacuum lines and cleaned out the upper intake manifold it had lots of oil sludge buildup. It was all from the "tuna can" tubing that attaches to the turbo inlet. I am planning on cleaning the intake properly if I ever get...
you can click on them to make them larger I think or is that just on my computer? they were uploaded at 4000 something resolution does the website make them smaller?
It is an aftermarket the other one had 2 metal sediment bowls this has a metal and glass one. The one before broke the spokes...
That darn cat! 230000 miles on both engine and injectors I was going to rebuild the injectors but I got another car for my daily driver. mostly this truck is used for the farm so its not started much.
so after all this time I finally got around to fixing the old girl. I replaced both filters and the filter assembly (was letting air into the lines) then I took off all the lines on the injection pump and blew them out and that was very annoying let me tell you. The worst part was when I thought...
I think if you pop the top off the battery and charge it and you see lots of bubbles then it is bad or going bad... The bubbles are hydrogen and are very explosive in high saturation so don't charge it too long with a ton of bubbles or it could explode when you make any ignition source. I am...
