    OPS extension install questions

I used a straight bulkhead AN fitting on a "L" bracket I made from some flat bar. It takes several adapters to make it all work, there is a pipe to AN adapter on the branch of the tee to connect to the bulkhead fitting. I could take a close up if you want, but I can tell you there is no easy...

Alternator bench tests good but does not charge

I had a problem with the alternator on the Suburban several years ago. Batteries kept going down, so removed the alternator and took it to the shop. This is a shop I really trust, he has done a lot of work for me. Anyway, he put it on the machine and it put out over 100 amps. He proclaimed...

CDR valve relocated to stop oil suction......

I ran a similar setup for a while. It seemed to work fine. I have since gone back to the original location on the valve cover. I can't say the oil fill vs valve cover made much difference. BTW, if say someone wanted a really slick modified oil fill tube with a vent like this one but with the...

    OPS extension install questions

I have the JK kit on a 95 (OBD1). Mounted both sending units on a Tee mounted on the firewall, with a -3AN hose to connect them to the block. I did have to extend the wires for the stock OPS. It works great.

    Hummer Fan clutch setup

NO, 4 V belts. Did they make a serpentine setup?

That pesky PMD problem has finally got me

Just a thought. I ran across this signal interface while looking for something for another car (why can't I leave well enough alone?). In any case, my guess is that with one of these, the DB2 conversion might be easier for a 4X4. If I understand how this works, you should be able to wire...

That pesky PMD problem has finally got me

If nothing else, get the cruise control cable if you can, they are NLA. I would grab the throttle cable as well. 93 4L80E's maybe not, they updated some parts in 94 I think, I would get a later one if you can.

    Hummer Fan clutch setup

Got one cheap if anyone wants it. Its heavy though so shipping might be high.

Chinese made knockoff Waterpump vs GM one ??

Peninsular sometimes has "take off" threaded water pumps. That is where I got mine. They are from new AMG engines, probably as good as you will get these days. Certainly better than the Made in China stuff.

    Hayden Severe Duty Fan Clutch

The truck fan clutch for the Kodiak matches the description in the article I read from Heath, but I cannot say if its the same one. When I contacted Hayden, they told me it had the exact same temp ratings as the 6.5 fan clutch. It's just bigger, more surface area, according to Hayden about...

    Hayden Severe Duty Fan Clutch

You would have to check the catalog, but I think just the spin on. They only list a few truck fan clutches.

    Hayden Severe Duty Fan Clutch

Yes if you have the threaded style HO water pump and Duramax fan.

    Hayden Severe Duty Fan Clutch

Might want to look at Hayden 2886. It's the truck duty fan clutch for the thread on water pump. It's for a Duramax Kodiak but will fit our trucks. Its Hayden's heaviest duty fan clutch. I run one on our Suburban

Tapping for a exhaust temp gauge

If you don't fancy tapping the manifold, you can install a bung in the crossover pipe. I installed mine just under the LH manifold. And I was able to tap one of the unused bosses on the upper intake for the boost gauge. If you have a DS4 you may not have this option, so really...

    extra large oil filter installed.....

There is no need for a bypass valve in the filter because the block has one. I could be wrong, but I think virtually every vehicle made now has a bypass valve on the engine. As other have said, no need for a drainback valve when the filter is mounted with the opening at the top. The oil can't...

Need an oil line question answered pretty quickly!

The bellhousing threads in my 95 were SAE, in my GEP block they are metric. They are very close in size and look the same, but are different. I had to order 6 new studs. The original studs had SAE threads for the block, but metric threads on the outside where several brackets bolt on. Only...

Need an oil line question answered pretty quickly!

The new block has 1/2" pipe thread fittings. Not sure what your old block had, but probably 3/8". If you are running the original stock lines, you can get block fittings to fit smaller hoses in both sizes. I had both size fittings a while back, but not sure if I still have them. Of you are...

    Phazer timing gears kit

I'm one of the few that don't like the gear drive. I bought one several years ago and installed it on our Suburban. IMO, its poorly made. The installation is very fiddly, requiring grinding off the idler shafts for the proper fit, which is not very well defined. The cam gear did not fit, I'm...
