Need an oil line question answered pretty quickly!

On some trucks (Like mine) a bushing would put the 90* to far out and not able to be installed. My Burban has 599 with 3/8" and it hit the exhaust. I had to cut the manifold to get it to fit, so a 1/2" fitting would be even tighter.

The bellhousing threads in my 95 were SAE, in my GEP block they are metric. They are very close in size and look the same, but are different. I had to order 6 new studs. The original studs had SAE threads for the block, but metric threads on the outside where several brackets bolt on. Only GM would make a stud with both threads! BTW, the new studs are metric/metric.

Bellhousing bolts on the optimiser are metric[10mm x1.5]. Bellhousing bolts on the "599" are standard thread[3/8 nc]. Motor mount to block bolts on a optimiser are metric[10mm x1.5] motor mount to block bolts on a "599" are 3/8 nc. A hydraulics shop or farm equipment shop should have the 1/2 x jic8 90 degree fittings.
GM used [not shure if they still do]to offer a conversion kit with all the bolts to switch to the 506 block from 599,660,141 or 929.

Woudn't happen to have a part number for that kit would you?

We're using the bolts we have available locally to get it back together (all grade 8 or better) aand I wouldn't mind switching them out for the proper ones later on.

I've got an aftermarket HD cooler and braided lines already on the way...

Sorry, no part #s. I got a bunch of parts from a guy that had a conversion kit in it. Bag is long gone.

If you got grade 8 bolts in there you should be fine. IIRC the American ones were grade 5 anyway. Least that was what was in my 93 but who knows if they were original. AFAIK though Metric bolts are graded differently. I think the metric equivalent is 10.9 or something like that. Most hardware stores only carry 8.something which I think is grade 3 but don't hold me to that.
