    Huge problems :( Engine maybe

If you're looking for a shortblock, my 18:1 is almost complete ):h :P I've done a single cylinder replacement on a 6.2L. Absolutely no trouble with that engine until it broke another piston 2 years later(completely different hole). It ran for about 100,000km-150,000km before breaking the...

How much damage to the piston?

    Merry christmas to me!

Looks like I either destroyed my transfer case or transmission the other day. Driving down the highway when it acted as though I dropped it into neutral. I put it into park after stopping and heard the chatter of the park pin because the transmission was still spinning. I tried the transfer...

My Wife Nearly Killed The Burb

Good to hear everyone is ok! In all honesty, I'd rather be driving the smartcar. They handle accidents WAY better than my truck.

    Huge problems :( Engine maybe

I went through the exact trouble with my dads blazer. It was a broken valve spring, lifter, and a bent pushrod. It happened under power, too.

    Huge problems :( Engine maybe

    Possible rocker-arm/valve train stuff, too.

    Propane

I'm gonna play around with propane on my 18:1 engine when it's completed. Still waiting on the short block(kinda getting scared as to what it's going to cost )

    4x4 actuator blues

Yes. I spent the $400.00 on an actuator and harness. I haven't had a chance to refresh my memory on installing one of these yet. Honestly, I didn't know about the Posi-Lock system until I read your message.

    4x4 actuator blues

Mines doing the same thing. I noticed it get weak this summer so I just had to buy a new actuator today. Can't get the old gas ones anymore so I'm stuck with the new electronic ones for 3x the price

    Finally did it

I don't think it is. Looks like that's just the rise in the frame where the rear axle and suspension goes.

    in remembrance of our vets

My grandfather was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, as well. He was an officer that flew in Lancasters and reached the highest rank possible for a Canadian in the Royal Air Force, which was "Squadron Leader/Commander". His job was Radar Operator/Technician which was a type of Navigator...

New - '95 6.5 TD wont start after Head swap

As said before. You need to be sure it's actually pumping fuel from the injector lines. When I replaced a injection pump a while back, I had much the same trouble. I would pop the injection line and it would squirt fuel, but as soon as it was reconnected it the fuel would stop. Turned out I had...

    Head Gasket?

That's no head gasket, it's fuel related. I'm fairly sure it's either a weak or faulty glowplug(s). If it were headgasket you would have some of the following symptoms: Hard upper rad hose on cold start, overheating, oil in coolant, coolant in oil, the smell of antifreeze in the exhaust...

Code 13 Engine shutoff Sol Ughhh...

I thought DieselPro mentioned something about the actual ESO being shimmed. I never got fuel through the pump again after I took one out of a running pump. Just be sure to double check before you tear that one out. I'd hate to see you have to take the thing apart to get it reshimmed :(

Code 13 Engine shutoff Sol Ughhh...

You can't just replace the ESO, either. I believe it has to be shimmed in order to work properly and no one other than a pump shop is likely to have the tools or know-how to do it. I'm not sure about what would be blowing the fuse, though. Possible it's a frayed wire but it could also be that...

    Gah

There will be pics as soon as I can get started on my engine. I'll show the short block prep and painting when I get it. I have a bunch of fabrication to do at the same time.

    Gah

Ignition switch fried today. Amazingly, it got hot enough to start a very small fire between the contacts. It had been acting up for a few days causing weird glitches when driving and such. Good news is that my rotating assembly is currently being balanced! The short block should be ready...

    Stud, Girdle, or Nothing?

I've decided for my build I'll be going with only studs. I'm going to spend the money budgeted for a girdle on a FD. I thought about stock vs lowered CR and decided that price would be a factor in it. To do a lower CR engine only cost me $200.00 extra. For that price I decided to take a risk...
