What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Today I spent some time installing the 01 duramax diesel fan blade with 98 hayden fan clutch on my 96 gmc with the 6.2.All went well overall. The duramax unit seems like it’ll do a better job of cooling over the previous 96 fan blade. I bought both items new from rockauto.

Last evening I made an attempt to get the door back together but got into another issue. The old steel guide track decided to let go from the bottom of the glass once I had everything together,so yet again the door needs to be taken apart to get the glass out.I found a replacement piece on Amazon...

Well at least the new latch is put into place. The door is still all apart but at least now it’s functional.I just need to put the new striker bolt on.Napa has one in my area.

Today I’m finally finding time to put a new driver side door latch and striker bolt on my 96 gmc truck. The old latch and striker bolt are worn beyond recognition and the door won’t even stay closed.I’ve had the truck in the garage ever since this problem occurred so hoping today to at least have...

2006 Jetta TDI timing belt replacement

It’s definitely worth a shot.I used to buy half dozen bottles of the comp cams additive every so often but haven’t done so in awhile now. On that particular brm I did the cam replacement on I had to remove the oil pan and get it cleaned it out.You could see traces of metal grit.It ran great...

2006 Jetta TDI timing belt replacement

They are indeed but they need an extreme pressure additive mixed with the oil to prevent cam lobe scuffing.I know they were famous for that problem. After I did the camshaft replacement on the 06 brm I dumped a bottle of comp cams additive along with rotella T6 for the customer but nowadays...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Could be a partially broken wire making contact off and on maybe going through the door into the rubber boot into the cab.I’d definitely check there and have a good look at the wiring.

2006 Jetta TDI timing belt replacement

I did one of those brm timing belts before but also with a new camshaft and cam followers with cam bearing inserts from eBay.The cam lobe wiped out next to the timing belt sending metal grit into the oil. I do know having the proper vw tools to lock the crank in place is critical.I bought a...

This morning on eBay I purchased a driver side seat foam pad for my 96 gmc truck.I redid the seats back in 2014-15 with new tan vinyl covers, armrest, headrests, etc but at the time the driver side foam pad wasn’t in the greatest of shape but I plan to fix it soon with this new replacement.Total...

The Sparta pump only cost $80 delivered and the regulator is $99 US bucks which isn’t bad either. The jic fittings are sold separately which I can buy here locally but the mounting bracket comes with it.I also have a small fuel pressure gauge I can thread into the regulator so I can adjust it...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

From rockauto this evening I bought a Sparta/delphi electric lift pump for my 96 gmc with the 6.2.I just need to find a proper mounting clamp to fasten it to the chassis. The Sparta is part number pn5000 from a 99 7.3 powerstroke F350 that delivers 43 psi so I’m going to run a diesel rx brand...

Morning everyone. Here are the finishing touches regarding the wiring for the fuel pressure gauge.I used 3 fuse taps which turned out pretty good.I had to use some permatex liquid electrical tape I found at Napa on the small gauge wires after I crimped and heat shrinked them going into the fuse...

I think it will be tough trying to get a crow foot in there so I’d probably double wrench it instead to give it a little more leverage. Then you should be okay.
