What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

That was my thinking to. I can idle the truck up during winter months to get the heat a little faster and during the summer time the air conditioning would be colder.

The wire kit that I bought is cheaper than the crimp tool to be able to do it yourself.
I sent Q-Star a message about buying one of His kits.

Started installing the PT Wiring Solutions battery cable set. I was really confused at first and realized that I might have the wrong set. "You get what you ask for" came into play as I had ordered the "94 and OLDER" set. Apparently I miss read it as '94 and UP' (face palm). Bruce is more than a stand up guy and took them back and sent out the correct set for the 99, wouldn't take an more money for shipping either. Anyway, got the driver's side on. I'm debating the Powermaster Starter upgrade 'since I'm in there' so will hold a bit on the passenger side. Removing the starter will make getting that big "0" gauge cable attached.

Yeah, thats low. Not panic fix it today, but it is time to decide what pump and where you are buying it this month and install it next month kinda thing. 0 psi is throw anything in you can afford moment.

And keep in mind that is prefilter pressure. So a little less is possible to ip. On my hummer I ripped out my gauge and t and gave it to a friend that was moving away and needed it worse than me. I am now thinking about an electric gauge, and 2 sending units. One in t after filter and one prefilter with Leroy’s tap bolt. Then run the 2 wires to a single pole double throw switch, then from center contact of switch to gauge. Switch up reads ip, switch down reads prefilter. Want to know when to change filter? Flip a switch.

And for MY gmt400? I went and got it, then gave it to my nephew. Do I get to count it since I owned it only for a minute? Haha.
88 gmc k3500 6.2 n/a regular cab, regular bed.
Removed rectangular can style fuel filter to examine fuel, have to cut it apart tomorrow to look for water & bugs, etc. drained about 13 gallons of very yellow fuel out of tank. Btw, what do you do with old barely working liftpumps? Put barbed fittings and some rubber hose on it. Chop off connectors and add 15’ of wire to the leads with alligator clips on the end. Makes a convenient transfer pump. No real pressure so cheapy npt barb fittings are ok if others aren’t available. Never for use on the truck- only no pressure situation where you can watch it.

He will sign up here this weekend and start a rescue truck thread.

Kinda on the lower end of things

On second startup it was at 3 pounds, dont know if it`ll get any better.
I`ll get to shopping around.
I do have a high pressure pump and a regulator setting on the shelf, was for My home made fuel injection system I tried on My 78 MG-B, didn`t work out. I dont remember the capabilities on this pump but I`m thinking it was in excess of 50 pounds.
I`m surprised at the low pressure reading, the pump had been replaced just before I got the truck. It is a facet pump, I was thinking that they are suppose to be one of the better and more reliable brands, even says made in USA on it. LOL

He`ll get a hearty welcome in here I am sure.

I hope this next job comes sooner than expected, just priced the Carter lift pump from Leroy Diesel, nice kit, I`ll be saving for one of those.

Burb work today entailed installing the Painless Performance High Beam Headlight Relay (#30802) or "Four-High" headlight mod harness. I installed their Upgrade Headlight Harness kit (#30817), which takes the electrical load off the Headlight Switch in the cab, a little while ago. Mounted the Relays next to the battery. Four High wires are correctly color coded so just match them up with corresponding ones in the wiring harness (Lt Green High Beam, Tan Low Beam) and splice them in. The kit provides 'T' splices but, I use 2 to 1 heat shrink butt splices from Wytec instead. Have seen the results of weather getting into the "T" splice and don't like the concept anyway.

Final Pic. Headlight harness relays behind the battery visible, Four-High relay has the red wire loom for aesthetics sake.

Might want to check the specs on that pump
YUP, looking over these pumps. One is a 60 pound, another one is like a 30 and another one a 45.
The lowest this Mallory pressure reg will go is 30 pounds, just way too much for this system.
I`ll wait and get the kit from Leroy. That way I know it has been put together specifically for this application.

From the little bit of searching I did your pump might be in it's normal range
I too did a little searching, it is the cube style pump and I believe You are right.
I`ll be running it a little more today and see if the pressure readings comes up on it. It was just a momentay start to test it and a back it out of the garage run.

I changed the ignition switch on my son’s ‘94 K2500 Suburban. Also repaired the cable to the shift indicator. I’ll do the turns signal switch at a later date. Need to make sure I have both pullers.

Here's my install, maybe some info or pics that could help out.
