You havn't worked on anything until you've tried wrenching on salt belted vehicles.... So much fun!

I'm pickin' up what you're puttin' down. I can relate. All that salty winter road prep just so non-drivers can drive like a bat outta hell.

dSLUG... lookin' good. Keep the updates posted.

I can't stand the salt and crap on the roads. I agree w/ you DieselSlug. I wanna move out of "the rust belt" someday. I'm still going at rust preventative work on my project, and yet i'm sure after winter i'll still find more rust.

That turbo mount...holy crap i've never seen one that bad. I can see how how your manifold rusted through, there's nothing left to them. They've got to be quite thin.

The new engine looks amazing by the way. I hope mine look that good when the times comes to pull them out and redo them.

Thanks dave, more pics of today. Engine is ready to come out tomorrow night.... And yes those are corn kernals i found in my pulley balencer....
Is that turquoise converter stock??? And my 5 dollar ops extension

Well, ended up successfully removing the engine. However that same night my girlfreind of 5 years decided that she didint have enough time for me anymore. Apparently horses are more important. Pretty down.... This is the second time she has done this, figured id give her a second chance...So i really havent touched it since... But i do have pics, just need to get them up. College has hammered me hard with work this year, so i cant really ewven concentrate on that...... Think you know a lot about a person, guess again...:cryin: I feel like:shiiiiiite:. But ill get back in gear in a few days.. i hope...

Bummer. I'm thinking she's just jelous...all those pics you've been posting of your new engine ans NONE with her at the very least standing beside it. :nonod:

She just wants more time from you and gave you the horse story.

Good luck with everything.

BTW, great thread you got here.

There is one pic with her in it, look on the first page of this thread. She never did want to help out with it, horses came first.... Never got in a fight with her though, about anything, we got along so good. Up untill yesturday, she has different priorities....

Dude, she don't look to happy in the pic.

Maybe do yourself a favour and ease up with all the internet time and spend some time with her and her horses. If she's worth it though..

Not trying to bust your balls, but when ya got a good women with 5 years invested, take care of what's important first.

Why is it that I think your gonna come back and tell me your truck's more important lol.

Ur not going to believe this but i put more time in her horses (11quarter horses, all family owned) and her stuff more than anything. I almost live at her house, but i go home at night to sleep, and im at school all day. She was grumpy there because its something thats doesnt go with horses. All the talk at their house is horses. I worked my ass of there, throwing 1500 hay bales 2 times a year, mowing the lawn that takes 6 hours, helping her all the time. And the few times i ask for help in the garage she acts like its the end of the world. She doesnt mind cars, when were working on hers. She was the selfish type, really never showed me much loving, but it was nice to have someone to talk to all the time. This is why it has taken me almost a year to do my project. Sorry, my little vent.... But i changed my life for those people, and started not minding it that much, working a lot....

Update, back in action...

I remember you asked it somewhere if the factory torque converter is blue...
I know when I had my TH400 rebuilt, he installed a new (stock) torque converter and it was that same blue colour. I have also seen another truck with a blue converter, so I'm thinking it is just a factory replacement one.

Oh, and you engine looks so sweet, I'm jealous!
