PMD (Pump Mounted Driver) Issue Must Read

PMD Lawyer

Where did he go? No more posts from him, did ya all scare him off? I saw some of his websites, he has a lot of official documents on the rescue one from lots of different agencies, the PMD site looks like a template off the other one and is hosted on a freebie godaddy site. Question, between SS Diesel, Heath diesel and accurate Diesel and what DTECH witch one is the best for PMD relocate? I really hate lawyers too, is there a punt lawyer feature? btw is this him? www.***********.com there was a link to some chick named kayla on another different forum and she looks a whole lot like the girl on his page......sounds like wifey is playing da game too! got some cool toys where do i apply? 2 h1's 1 h3 1 hmmwv and he is crying about a PMD relocate kit for what 200-500 bucks looks like he has a quarter a million of toys at his grab,,,,,punk lol

My bad, I think my thread was moved dont know where lol,,,,,,,can anyone quickly answer my PMD question, sorry got sidetracked on the lawyer guy....thanks a bunch

I have to say that everytime I see a Smart car I feel an overwhelming urge to run up and kick it over. No idea why I hate them, but I do. When I am in my truck I make sure to overfuel it and roll some coal in their direction, hopefully to counteract any global fuel savings they may be trying to achieve. We gotta keep Big Oil in business, if they start to suffer because of too many Smart cars, prices will go up and I won't be able to afford to drive my dinosaur.
I read in Consumer Reports that the Smart Car they tested was the slowest 0-60 vehicle they had ever tested. It was over 14 seconds. When you consider their gas mileage is only a hair above what some real automobiles can get that actually can transport 4 or 5 people in them, I just don't understand it. A teeny little gokart ought to be able to get double the mileage of a 4 door 5 passenger sedan.

As for safety, supposedly they get outstanding safety ratings across the board. All I can figure is that instead of suffering crushing impact damage, they just get punted away, tumbling along like a hamster ball. They do have an integral cage, so I guess you could roll around in it all day. Which is why I came up with the idea for Smart Car Soccer. Haven't got the details, rules and scoring all figured out yet, but suffice to say it would involve one Smart Car, two teams of 4wd plowtrucks on a large field, or perhaps a frozen lake. You could have teams of Chevy vs Ford or Dodge, and an endzone at each end to try to boot the little turd into. Big dually goalies. I see a youtube hit in the making!

Yeah, who give them the safety ratings ? The same govt that wants them...Hmmm....Yeah a Smart car is safer than my 90 Burb or my CUCV huh ??

I know a few folks that own the little Smart cars, they love them.

Well if the thing does not get stepped on, your fine but, in a wreck, your history.

The other day I was on the freeway with the big rig and one of them little go carts got right down under the RH side mirror.
Had I not seen the little critter get in there, I could have changed lanes and ran right over it.

He was obviously running in the NO ZONE

Scarry to think that anyone would venture out onto the Big Slab with a toy like that.

Hell, I have seen golf carts that are larger.

The auto safety ratings are done under a fixed and doctored set of standards.

No way that a little cracker can can provide more protection to its occupants than an old Iron horse like a Burb.

They make all sorts of ta doo about crumple zones and air bags etc. Well after the dust settles and the zones are all crumpled and you with it, its really hard to convince me that these things are safe.

If I lived in a sleepy little farming community way out in the sticks and needed a little rig to drive a couple miles to the store, Maybe one of these little things would be OK.

But why not drive and older pickup or Burb that you can buy cheap and that can do more than haul two people (CRAMPED) with no room for anything else.

Oh well, such is life.

Did we finally get rid of Mr Crusader ??

Back many years ago, Isetta had a little car that you crawled into from the front.

(Made in several different countries)

It was about the size of the smart car, maybe smaller. Back when 6 ton Chrysler Impy's plied the highways at 80 MPH.

Saw one at the auto show in Portland, think it was 1968 0r 69 ??? LOng ago now.

Many people at the time thought it was a Golf cart and remarked as such.
The folks at the display were having a really tough time convincing the crowd that you could drive that thing down the freeway.

A tiny little frontal Bump and you would be trapped inside the thing.

Made the Corvair look like a tank

Wow, that's interesting. How'd you find all that information? Especially since all the links to his site(s) were removed after he was banned for signing up under multiple usernames.

I checked and the Smart Car has mileage ratings of 31 City and 41 Highway. I compare that to my Honda Accord which was rated 26 City and 36 Highway and then consider all that I would give up and also risk by squeezing into a Smart Car and it just makes no sense whatsoever. They're a novelty, plain and simple.

Really? with that rating, why not just buy a Jetta TDI?

I don't know how this thread shifted into a small car discussion (bashing?). Anyway, I do have a bit of experience in this area. I have owned and driven/ridden in a Mini for thousands of miles. Now I'm talking real Minis, not the new ones. They are almost exactly 10' long, so most would consider them fairly small cars. Unlike the Smarts they sell here, they are proper 4 seaters.

While I wouldn't want to get run over by an 18 wheeler in one, they really are not what I would consider unsafe. In fact, as far as active safety goes, they are probably the best you can get. The best way to stay safe is to avoid accidents. I can assure you, in a Mini you will drive around situations that your 6.5 truck will be involved in. Their road holding is second to none and the small size allows you to nip around obstacles that other cars just physically cannot. You really have to drive one to experience how maneuverable they are.

Just FYI, the BMW Isetta was about 90" long, the Smart is 106". Both are about 54-55" wide. I have ridden in an Isetta 300 and top speed is about 50 MPH on a good day, so I don't know how many were driven on the freeway. They are a interesting automotive oddity, but not very practical. However, in war torn Europe having any sort of car was a step up, so the "bubble cars" certainly welcomed in their day. If you are interested in Micro Cars, the Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum is a must see. There are lots of great pictures on his site if you want to see some unusual cars.

As mentioned, the Smart really doesn't deliver the fuel economy one would think. They are not very fast, so not sure what the draw is. Maybe in large cities they are easy to get around in. However, they are engineered for crash protection. There is a You Tube video showing one crash into a barrier, its very impressive.

google search works great too, this dude is on every forum I have visitied like he is on a mission. He has his name listed on everything with dozens of links tell me i am not the only newbie here that can look things up. I have been watching this on all sites eating pop corn for like 3 days. got some answers so far that i am going to try, got some laughs too. for what its worth this lawyer guy has a few good points just think he looks better if he does not respond to every comment and stick to his points he is like quick draw mcdraw and he has a few cool hummers that to me are over priced that should never have gone efi and if he reads this i agree with those that said to convert to mechanical db2s i wish i could with mine and get away with it so i am stuck with this f'n pmd i hate hence my name. His complaint about privacy is out the door with all his sites listing all contact information for him i will say that. You can type his name in google and he is link number one. I am impressed he is all over the news, maybe thats what he wants out of this, i dont know, i just would really like to know the best PMD company???????????

Look pretty well engineered for crash survival to me. It;s probably better than a "pre-airbag" GMT-400 vehicle for crash survivability.

You might think you're "safer" in a larger vehicle, but it's all about how it's designed to take the impact. Plus, there's a lot more force to be transmitted form the vehicle to your ever so frail "bag of water". I knew a guy who hit a raised pre bagged K1500 with his airbag tahoe. One kid died in the rig, the other went into the hospital, the guy driving the 'hoe got a couple bruises.

Hammer anything between a semi and a city bus and you're done...

Meh, looks like a "wannabe" to me.

Think about it:

Military police, police academy, police ride along (or whatever it is), "search and Rescue", and what does he end up doing for a living?

Steam cleaning business.

As someone who works in SAR and sees these type of guys all the time, he sounds like a "couldn't cut it" guy...

I'd do naughty things to his wife though.......:)

Seems like you're saying that he claims to be something he's not...........
