Need new cyl head fast

What about the place in Florida(I think) that makes heads for our 6.5?

I do not remember the name of the Company.:mad2:

Yeah since I'm only gonna do 1 I would rather put back what is on it plus I have heard horror stories about CLearwater's Heads.

The ex manifold bolt is snapped off in it. I worked on it for 4 hrs yesterday to no avail. I got a hole drilled and then the second bit snapped in the hole. I tried 10x to weld a nut to it but they broke off. I had to use a lnog racthet and a 3 ft pipe to get the others out and that was after soaking everything with PB Blaster so basically I am f'ed. If I pull the head I can try direct drilling in my drill press but I am not hopefull. It's near impossible to dril through a broken bit. I am mulling bolting the manifold back on with a new gasket and trading the truck in. I can't handle pulling a head right now. My back is shot and it's another 500$ min into this wrung out douche bag. I should have kept my Cummins.

Hardened ex manifold bolts obviously cannot be drilled so on the manifold goes and off to the delaer for a trade in. I'm done with this junk. I'm not putting a head on this POS. My eyes are othering me again too from trying to weld a nut on yesterday. Maybe it's time to try an auto helmut.

Kenny I got a used (Walts) head. I think it is good. about 95%. I had issues with the passenger side this is off the driver side. You pay shipping and you can have it. Dont know if it would be worth it for ya, but thats the best I can do.

you can't have a machine shop remove the bolt? I find it hard to believe that can't be done. My diesel class in college was working on a land rover diesel and a stat housing bolt snapped. Then the bolt extractor snapped inside the busted off bolt. Head went off to the machine shop, and came back a few days later with that busted bolt/bolt extractor removed and the hole re-tapped.

That way your not buying a head. You can let the dually sit for a day or two and cruise in the CUCV or the burb right?

I'm heading down to Norwich to trade the truck in. 625, Thanks, I may take you up on that if my trade in doesn't go well. If they offer me atleast 5k(low book trade in) It's gone.

OMG Kenny you just can't win! Hope your not mad at me and the others who pushed you toward that truck. I really thought it would be a good truck for you, but I guess I forgot to take into account that ancient curse the Gypsy woman at the carnival laid on you..
So, what are you trading for?

Well the Ram I looked at was a total rag. I burned up 15 brand new drill bits to no avail. I have never seen such a hard bolt. Nothing it going to get it out. Either I drive it like it is or the head must be replaced. I took it for a 2 hr drive with new gasket and missing bolt. It doesn't appear to be leaking. Of course with the Vac pump dead it's only making 5 psi of boost anyway. Not sure if I could get away with the bolt broken. I really don't wanna do a head. When I did the heads on the burb a few months ago my back gave out trying to put the drivers side one on and I dropped it onto the gasket and ruined a 50$ gasket. Not to mention I was in a lot of pain afterwards. I'm not sure I can do another one. It sucks to get old. :suicide:
