Yes, if it was just me I would not re-install. However it helps the kids, and anyone accessing the rear rows immensely. So, they will most likely get re-installed.

Got the rear bumper off.

Started searching for replacement panels. This is going to be more expensive than I expected. So far pricing for "full" outer rockers and outer rear quarters:

Mill Supply: $614

LMC: $720, RH rocker backordered.

Will keep searching. Might need to save up for this one, just after Christmas type deal. Kinda crazy for some chinesium....

Then there is this style that is often labeled "slip on", but these say weld in for half the cost.

Another option, CarID. They have 2 options for rockers and quarters. They are $480 for the sets. Really nut sure if there is a quality difference.

Haha, my 5 year old has been on me about getting some of them going. All are still outta his league, but I unpacked the boxes to see what we have. These are all a good 15-years old. I have about 8 of them, 2 are gas powered.

Look at the hooks. First one looks like a "t" and the second an "f" the way you have them laid out for the photo!

Got the tow hooks back on, and the doors off. Props to GM on this model for ease of door removal.

Nice! be careful walking around the front of your rig!! those hooks look like they want to reach out and grab a shin or leg calf. eek! just thinking about it hurts lol

They stand out pretty good now! I will have to go back out and check how far out they protrude next time!

Does anyone know if I move the Yukon around (with doors removed, and front seats out), will that be ok with the airbag system? That stuff kinda' freaks me out. What I need to do is be able to move the truck through the shop to the welding bays, and then back to the storage bays when I am done, I just don't want an airbag discharge! I'd assume the doors don't matter at all, just thinking twice about the seats! I need to remove to replace the console sub that doesn't work.

Pull out the air bag system fuses. there should be two under the dash, not sure if one lives under the hood.

From what I found only seems to be 1-15 amp fuse under the hood, pulled for now.

Looks like the hooks don't stick out much further than the frame horns:

Got the plastics off the rockers. Took a bunch of before pictures, also based on these I don't need "full" rocker replacement panels (which are nearly double the smaller ones, and on backorder in several locations). Inner rockers are currently salvageable. Going to start drilling spot welds over lunches the next few weeks. Need to wait till we finish Christmas shopping before I can order rockers.
