KODIAK door handles on my pick up

I've been curious about this as well and have done some digging. After spending some time on ebay and mucking about with VIN numbers in an EPC I can't find any official rear handles. This is what the doors look like in the EPC, no rear ones, front only.

I've got that same print out. It does look as if there are only front handles.

Here are a couple pictures I have saved to my computer, of a 3500HD Crew Cab truck. I got the link to the Ebay listing by searching for the "rare rig" thread here. As you can see, the rear door handles look the exact same as the front ones, locks and all.

It would be cool if an electric switch/lock cylinder could be put in there (like the older Corvette). Not sure what to use if for though, maybe an alarm or to lock/unlock all the doors? but that would be better in the front door anyway.

Just thinking out loud.

Well, thought id get back into this thread. Gave the junkyard a call, and they have handles for the kodiaks that i am going to go look at next week. They want 75 dollars for a pair. So we will see the condition they are in.....

NP, they said they have a few doors that are rusty, they wont take them off a nice door, but hopefully the ones arent junk, im going to get this painted so it needs to look very nice, even if i have to pay the new price....

YAYAYYAYA!!!!!:D

I finally have a set of kodiak door handles!!!!(actually i have a set, and a half)
I even got all of the lock and latch rods with them for 80 bucks cash!!!!
They are a little faded however and i am goin to paint them a flat or satin black. But overall in very good condition. Ill post a pic this weekend!!!

Matuva! Long time no see! You are unworthy of these forums until you install that Walbro sitting on your shelf!!!

ROFL!
Hey Matt,

no, not mounted the Walbro yet... not enough time....
my oldest daughter (15 yrs old) wants her own bedroom and area, half wants a dressing room, and the family would like a verandah.

Guess who has to build those extensions ?

Ok guys here are the pics of the handles. They will go on my new doors after the paintjob. They are sunfaded, so i am going to have to sand them and paint them with satin black. The wetness on the handles is wd-40, one of the locks is siezed up, but the other works, im just going to get new cylinders anyways, but thought i would try...

Is powdercoating expensive?? Is it durable?? And i dont know of anyone around here that does it...

Great idea to powder coat those!! Super durable. Way better than painting. Send em out if you have too. Look into it. They'll look brand new for years to come.

Here are the pics of my truck with the kodiak handles on. I am going to get them painted since they are faded, but i couldnt wait... :D I can at least lock my truck now.....

SOrry forgot to add the pics...:mad2:

I did that on my 93. Also, put the tailgate hardware from an 05 on it. The bear claw latches and all.

Hey Leroy, not trying to hijack your thread but do you have any more info on this?

I'm interested and was wondering what was involved IE: sheet metal work, linkages etc.

Got an install thread somewhere?

I tried PM-ing you instead of posting, but your box is full...

I don't have a write up on it. Did the job before I had a camera. Truck was sold.
I just sold a new set of handles to a member that want to do the same.
It will require the door handle hole to be enlarged, linkages to be modified. Once you get into it it becomes self explanitory.

My inbox was full, fixed now.

Anyone know how to swap lock cylinders I have a set of these kodiak handles but I am having absolutely no joy getting the lock cylinders out so I can swap handles.
