KODIAK door handles on my pick up

I've thought about swapping my truck to the Kodiak style handles for some time now, glad to see someone else try it out as well. Lookin good!

Thank you and welcome to the site.

I believe the 3500HD used that style door handle also.

I,ve never seen one just the Kojaks as far as I know.

How much are the Kodiak handles new?

About $90 each and thats with a discount. Thats why I'm keeping my eyes open for used rears.(for now)

I like that!

Thank you

I don't mind em used, the new ones squeak too much, but keep an eye out for GENTLY used rears...

OH! Doorhandles!! Nevermind.....

Is that $96 just the handles, or all the linkages and other parts too?

Just the handles. The linkage and misc parts for both side was $70. So, about $125 a side. Really not to bad when you consider they are Brand new GM parts.
Yes they do, a 3500HD with a wrecker body on it went past me this morning and I made a point to look at it.

SWEET Upgrade, I really like the look of them.

Thats good to know, I've never seen a HD with them (that I recall) Good more parts sources anyway in the junk yard.

How would that look all chrome?

I know it would not look good on my truck. Maybe on a custom Surburban.

Yup on the 3500HD's to, great for those of us with regular or extended cabs!

Cool is that your truck? Did they make 4 door HD's?

That is actually a random picture I found on Google, I do not believe that they ever made the 3500HDs in 4 door, at least I have never ever seen one. But the regular cabs with booms, toolboxes, or wreckers are actually pretty common.

What I really want is the red HDs off of the doors emblems!

I like the HD's emblems to. Seems like I used to see alot of Sant Fe RXR trucks that were HD 4 doors, Can't remember. I will keep an eye out now.

Considering that they made Kodiak and TopKicks in crewcabs, I'm pretty sure they would make the 3500HD as well, although I'm not 100% sure but I think I've seen them before, but I do know they have extended cabs for sure.

Also for future reference the earlier 3500HDs (like 92-93 era) have regular handles. We have about ten 92-93 3500HD service trucks as well as ten or so 95-96 3500HDs, and all the older ones have reular handles.

Part #'s please!!!! I want to do this to my Yukon

One question though, how do you pull the lock cores from the old handles to install in these?

Part #s are are page one. The lock cylinders just slide right in the Kojak handles. Don't put them in until you have the new lock pawl attached becuase it is more time consuming to get it back out than the regular handles. You have to remove 4 screws on the Kojak handle instead of just depressing the spring retainer clip.

I actualy still need to do the driver side. I am waiting on the lock pawl. When it does come in I will take more detailed pic's and post them up.

Yes, they (GM) did make crew cabs in HD. There was a landscape co that had one with a 8' dually box on it instead of a flat bed or dump box or whatever. Now that was sweet.

Im def. going to do that!!!!
I actually wanted to do it before and have found a drivers side kodiak handle with rod, all i really nedd is a pass. side. Ive wanted to do this but i need new door lock cylinders and new doors.

Do you need new door lock cylinder because they are missing or worn out? because you can reuse your lock cylinders in the Kodiak handles.
You need both rods when you find a kodiak handle.

I just got done with the driver side and took a bunch of pictures. I will load them up and post them in a few minutes.

Also, I asked the dealer today to look for rear handles, he said they must not have made a crew cab Kodiak or HD. Can anyone confirm this? What would really help if some spots one or has one post the VIN# so I/we can look up parts at the dealership.
