Injection Pump Failure Again

So when it quits there is nothing on in the dash even though the key is still in the ON position. When I make mine die, it will still light up the battery and check gauges light.

Theres a couple things that need to keep power to run. The PMD and Engine/Fuel Shutoff Solenoid, and the PCM. All run off IGN power.

Started truck at 3:50 pm and it idled for 12 minutes before quitting. The Accelerator was not touched. Battery light and Check Guages lights came on and the Radio worked as did the Headlights. The engine did not even get to operating tempature, no SES or STS lights. This test was with the Salvage Yard Accelerator Sensor installed! Next test is with original Accelerator Sensor! I will keep you posted!

APP shouldn't kill it while idling.
Do you have another pmd to test? I know it is new stanadyne, but sometimes they may be bad from factory, it is rare, but has happened

@Kojo,yes I have spare new PMD that was replaced under Warranty from Diesel Injection in Cincinnati, Oh.! Just replace the Salvage Yard Accelerator Sensor with the original unit and truck ran for four minutes before quitting, again Check Battery and Check Gauges lights were on as was the radio and headlights! Will replace the PMD from Leroy with the new one from Diesel Injection! Will post results shortly!

Twenty minutes later truck is still idling in the driveway with no problem after Switching out Leroy's PMD with the Replacement Warranty one from Diesel Injection!

Well, PMD is the likely suspect when you get stalling with no codes at all. Does seem odd a new one is bad, but crap happens. Also if it happens again, try removing the cable from the PMD. That happens a lot with the remote cables from Ebay. Just the act of removing it and putting it back on could resolve a problem pin in a connector. Or maybe just unplugging it and plugging it back in can resolve a pin connection problem if the surface was getting messed up from a failed weatherpac causing a bit of corrosion.

PMD and Cable came from Leroy on the Vendor page and the Truck passed it's first test drive with a New PMD from Diesel Injection! No stalling, stumbling or hesistation! Will do longer drive tomorrow afternoon!

Did you get the Dtech or Stanadyne from me? Keep me posted I will replace it if needed. I have only had one Dtech go bad and no Stanadynes, But Dtech out sells the Stanadyne. Its pretty rare to have a problem anymore with a remote mounted PMD.
FWIW: I have never had a bad cable yet. Over 2500 sold.

Stanadyne! I bought it from you in February. Returned the Gray Stanadyne from Diesel Injection(purchased in May of 09) to them for a Warranty exchange and that is the one under the front bumper now! I wish there was a way to test them by themselves. Diesel Injection to me I would have to bring the pump in too to test the PMD.

What might drive you nuts is that the other one might work just fine if you plug it back in. Do both have resistors in them?

I only have one #9 Resistor that I had to remove from one and install in the other! Maybe I will purchase a second one for back up also!

Youve gone through two new Stanadynes. Impressive. Are you using a thermal pad between the PMD and heatsink, or some thermal grease?

Is your alternator output a little high? Ever more than 14.4V?

Do you have someone close by with another 6.5 truck you can test the PMD on?
It is very high odds against two new Stanadynes going bad on the same truck. I wonder if something is frying them?
