I got the 6.2 blues

I noticed the second picture of the cylinders does have rust as somebody had mentioned before, is that a big problem or would some lite grit sandpaper and some wd 40 fix that?

If that is truly the pics of that engine, then I would buy it, but still inspect the bearings, you only have time and no money to dish out.

He seems like an honest guy, but you know how far that goes these days. He said he'd through in the oil pan and some old 6.5 heads for an extra 100. But he doesn't what kind of condition the 6.5 heads are in. He said he was rebuilding his 6.5 and took the heads off this 6.2 motor to put on his. But I'm not sure if you can put 6.5 heads on a 6.2 without boring anything out.

As far as the original problem/motor, I think i'll replace it with this newer one and keep it on the side line. Probably take it apart and have it all checked out eventually just for piece of mind.

6.5 heads should bolt right on to the engine but injectors may not fit, your injectors have fine or coarse threads.

Kenny is there enough room on this body to do a 6.35 install ?? (slang for 6.2 bottom with 6.5 upper parts)

This is the IP and lines he was trying to sell me too, I'm not sure if you can tell by the picture if their course or fine thread.

the fine coarse thread issue is the threads into the heads. ds4 ip lines won't work with db2. threads are diff on the ips

I might just go with some newer 6.2 heads so there's no extra issues.

I'm going to have it freighted to my house in a week and a half. So should the motor mounts from my Suburban work with this motor, even though the vehicle it came out of is unknown so far? I thought there would be a VIN number on the motor some where that would identify the vehicle it came out of.

Should I stop this thread since the topic has kind of changed or is it ok to keep posting my questions in this one?

Why would the mounts be different? All 6.2's and 6.5's are externally identical, except some 6.5's use metric fastening hardware.
