88 93 diesels only had a TCM.

Automatic only. Manual tranny has none.
The drac box is renamed speed sensor buffer[white plastic box ] The buffer is attached with velcro to the plastic wiring conduit on the back side of the dash to the left of the glove box.

Yep that is what I have. 200$. I wanna run throught he diagnostic sheet you posted before I blow 200$ on this thing.

Well, I went out to the 92 (dads C3500HD in sig, 6.5L 5spd 2wd) and we got low coolant, glow plugs, battery, and check guages. no check engine, or service engine light. so either we are in the same boat, or we dont have such lamps!

Cool, thanks. That helps alot then. The aldl connector may only be for the abs.

I have a check gauges light but no check engine, here is a picture of what my 93 has:

My truck has the connector and has ABS. I believe the ABS is on the rear tires only. Maybe I need to go and test it out to ensure it still works.

If you need a new DRAC module pick one up at the junkyard, I did when I converted my cluster in the 88 and got them for like $5 a piece.

Hell, if you can wait a week or so when I unpack the box I have one you can have, just pay shipping. You will have to calibrate it though for the tire size and gears, I can tell you how to do that as well.

I also have several of the buffers if you need one. I believe gassers are the same.

Well, as barry pointed out in a PM and after a call the Bill Heath(not just about this but my low boost as well) I need to go over the grounds. I am certain the grounds are damaged. Thanks for the offers of the DRAC's. If I need one I will let you guys know but tommorow I am going to check all the grounds. I think that maybe my issue.

If you need a DRAC or VSSB, either will work even though they are a little different. I have modified a few with dipswitches in place of the soldered in jumpers for calibrating to tire height, if that is something you are interested in.

What size are the tires? Does the speedo not move at all? doesnt register any speed whatsoever?

With the lift they would have had to extend the wiring from VSS to VSSB, would be good to verify the VSSB is getting a good power and ground and there is continuity between the VSS connector and the VSSB connector.

35 inch tires. Wiring was not modified. Transfer case stays at same place it was as this truck has a suspension lift. I'll keep that in mind. it does not mopve at all. The fuel gauge does not work, the alt gauge reads 18v when the truck is putting out about 14 and the temp reads 210 when the truck is warmed up which seems high to me but I did not test that yet for accuracy. I was going to play with the grounds tonight but mother nature seems really pissed of at CT. Getting another pounding right now.

grounds ground grounds...There was a small cut balck wire with like a grey stripe that looked like it should go the intake so without a wiring diagram, I took a chance and grounded it. Speedo now works as well as the fuel gauge. I was so happy I could not wait to take it for a test drive...that is until the clutch master (brand new POS made by third world sub species) started blowing fluid out the bottom(not the line from what I see)..:suicide:

The master took a dump now? WTF?

That sucks. Is it one of those stupid all plastic ones? Those suck regardless of where they come from IMO.

Kenny, I haven't seen this thread for a while, but I was going to say to check all your grounds, lol. Glad to see you are getting your wiring fixed up. Sucks about the clutch master though.

probably custom race car stuff from summit, but as far as OEM fit, no known better stuff. I would go salvage yard and get an OEM original one, as we have yet to kill an OEM Original master, and finally killed one internal slave at 200K plus miles in the 98. I feel crap was less crappy back then, otherwise no explanation for the bad luck.
