ALCON:

Time to "give back" to this forum for all the helpful topics I've read for this new 6.5L TD owner...

I researched Bosch fuel injector part number 0432217276 and Summit Racing had the best price ($39.97 ea) and free shipping over $99 and in stock compared to RockAuto's price of $43.79 ea plus shipping (they only had two in stock).

These are new Bosch, not rebuilt injectors and no core charges.

I just ordered eight of them plus Bosch Duratherm glow plugs 0250202126 to go with them. RockAuto was $7.67 ea vs $8.97 ea from Summit, but the total price was offset a bit with the free shipping from Summit Racing...

Hope this helps someone on the board.

Thanks for the info.

I order alot of stuff from Rock Auto and have found there prices usually are about the best around. Northern Auto Parts also has excellent prices. Just ordered from them and they were great to work with. Got Mahle rings, main & rod bearings, and a Fel-Pro complete gasket set for just over $300 bucks for the 6.2 diesel build I am working on.

in order to tell us what we want to know you'll have to open it up and see where the nozzle itself is made. Bodies are somewhat unimportant

Crud your right. They aren't hard to pop apart, just put upside down in vise and use the same socket that you will use to install to unscrew the body, if still willing...

I'll do that when they come. Fingers crossed they were made in a "good" country...

I have good feedbacks with the indian BOSCH

Finally some feedback on Bosch Injectors made in India. Here to date, all I see is bashing of anything not made in Germany. Why would Bosch put their name on anything if it was substandard?

I have some of the India Bosch injectors, they work ok now, but 3 of the 8 leaked new. I got them from a buddy who bought them and couldn't get the truck to run right. He found and bought German and was happy, so was I after some refacing. We did swap comparisons and the Germans ran better.

Bosch is like GM or any other company. They will make some things great, and shave pennies in other places. I would buy Indian, but would pay more for German. My 2 cents.

For the same reasons other companies do. Money. They are cashing in on their good name and as long as it sells they will continue regardless of the quality

UPDATE:

I received the Bosch injectors from Summit Racing tonight.

The boxes said 0 432 217 276 and a dash 770 to the right and below the part number. All boxes said "Made in India".

When I inspected all boxes, one of the bags had been opened (uh oh...) and the body of the injector had stamped: India 305 10 (902) and 0 430 211 097 973 on the body. The second injector (unopened) had the same numbers except a 25 instead of a 10 after the India 305 number.

Thinking someone did a nozzle switch, I took that injector apart. Relief - the nozzle was Bosch and had the following: Bosch symbol, 212 (902) DN OSD 304 India. I didn't take the second injector apart since it was still sealed in the bag when I received it.

Fearing wrong parts in the wrong box, I found that the part number (box) is different than the injector (body) number.

I also found this thread discussing injector part numbers and turns out my 304 nozzle is correct for the body according to the poster (but unverified he said): http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/2429991-post2.html

I'll post results after I install them. Other than a 15 min city streets test of the Suburban before I bought it and a 575 mile trip back towing my Dad's S-10 pickup on a tow dolly, I haven't driven the truck since getting it home...

As far as I know, german & Indian do work togeteher in the diesel field for several years now. TaTa, a bus & car builder in India is using Mercedes technology for their buses, cars & pickup. Some of these were used here in New Caledonia, and were very hard at work, deserving Mercedes technology they use.

I do believe Indian BOSCH injectors are just as good as the German ones, at a fraction of cost.

I have the Bosch Marine from Heath along with ATT and Heath tune for the '99 Suburban with 3.73 rear end. It gets 16 mpg highway.

My son's '94 has the ATT, regular Bosch injectors pop tested at 2400 psi, 4 position Buddy tuner and 4.10 rear end. On a recent trip he saw 19.56 mpg highway. I'm thinking the difference is the Bosch Marine injectors.

Having the set balanced within 25-50 lbs compared to 200 (which is what most will be) is noticeable just driving. The Indians aren't "bad" just not as balanced.
The other thing is average pop pressure is usually around 150 lbs lower on the Indians. That means not as fin a mist . Still good and useable, just not the premium. If you take the Indian set in (or do it yourself) you can bump the pressure and balance them as equal as possible and get incredible results from either set. The Germans are more pricey, but already fine tuned for you.
