Good price on new Bosch fuel injectors 0432217276

Come on Leroy, you know you want to start testing and balancing injectors!!:greedy::greedy:
If a regular shop does it for $5 ea, and you don't have to drop them off and pick them up, $60 extra to Leroy is easy worth it.
Shimming cost and convincing Leroy is the hard part.

What ya think Leroy, extra $120?
I think your closer to what a real injection shop will charge. Its a dirty, smelly, nasty and tedious job IMO.

If you want some injectors pop tested send them too me. I will video me doing it. Just cover shipping both ways and we will call it even. Just don't be in a hurry. I am currently working 6 days a week at 12 hour days.

All I will do is test.

That is why calls have to be made to find out what a trustworthy place would charge to test new injectors. Nobody can know what your cost will be or how much would be involved in transit for you. They may or may not give you a break on popping new injectors.
If I bought a new set of injectors, I would have shipping 2x and the cost of having them tested.
You can price the place I would use if you want to see what it would be worth to me. I linked it in a previous post.

If you have a good place a mile down the road, you can make out with a better price. It all depends.

Marty's deal sounds pretty dang good.

Currently I have one set of good injectors here and 4 vehicles that are due to have their injectors changed

Thank you. I was hoping and asking in another thread if a member would like to do the pop testing. You could have a little side business. I really don't have the time or desire to do them myself. I would have to have them done. Are you willing to adjust them also? I can get the shims .

I currently do not have the time to start a business. I am willing to pop test 6.2 and 6.5 injectors for current members for free. They pay all shipping. I will video tape me doing this so they can see which ones are bad and why. It would make a good learning experience for everyone here, including myself.

If you are interested, PM me.

Don't sell yourself short though. If you don't have time to start a business but are willing to take the time to do a service for free? does not make since to me. You should get paid whatever its worth to you to do them (more than zero :) )

Your saying $60? Thats $7.50 ea I don't know anywhere I could have them done for that. I do have to make it worth my time. If new Bosch injectors are going for that then I'll just pass. I'm way to busy anyway. I'm sure you know the feeling.

No, $20 to test all 8, it doesn't take more than 5 minutes. Now if the customer want's them shimmed etc, then that's more.

If they are new injectors and need shimmed, they should be returned for a refund.

The injectors are coming within spec (within a 300 psi range iirc) but balancing them all the same (25 psi variance is considered really good) is what the goal is. Think of buying new rods and pistons: They will all do in and run perfectly fine, but if they are balanced to the same weight (or within 1 gram) then the performance gain obtained by that balancing is what your after. Its is not at all needed, but once you compare the difference, you will always prefer going the extra mile.

OK, but they will all need to be shimmed if trying to get within 25 psi. Most people would never know if the difference was 100-200 or more psi.
At $20 I'll pass, way to much time in the overall job. You have to field phone calls, time for tech support, liabilities ....ect I'll let an expert handle that part. I have a feeling I/you wont find an injection shop that would pop test for $20??

A major concern for me would be more detecting leakers. I have heard reports of new leakers in recent history. Now you are talking a very good investment. Detecting a leaker before installing is far more important than balancing IMHO.

A leaker has the potential to ruin your day, not to mention your engine

The place I used last charged 29 bucks for testing and shimming each. I'm gonna order a pop tester as they are cheap. I can check spray pattern and when they pop, then consider shimming ect.

The point is, your doing a quick test to see if they are ok, kinda like good will, lol. I'll check them for $20 but then I am like that. True, you probably won't find a true injection shop who can test them all for $20. You can buy a decent pop tester for under $100.
Like you said, you don't want liability etc so that's cool, I can appreciate that. :D

ALCON:

Time to "give back" to this forum for all the helpful topics I've read for this new 6.5L TD owner...

I researched Bosch fuel injector part number 0432217276 and Summit Racing had the best price ($39.97 ea) and free shipping over $99 and in stock compared to RockAuto's price of $43.79 ea plus shipping (they only had two in stock).

These are new Bosch, not rebuilt injectors and no core charges.

I just ordered eight of them plus Bosch Duratherm glow plugs 0250202126 to go with them. RockAuto was $7.67 ea vs $8.97 ea from Summit, but the total price was offset a bit with the free shipping from Summit Racing...
