Diamond Eye truck and Suburban 4" exhaust turbo back w/muffler $299 shipped

Real quick late lunch. Time to add pics.

Old exhaust comes out quick. Three cut with the sawzall and its out. Took 30 minutes to remove system.

This cut is just behind the 4 bolt flange from the down pipe ahead of cat. This way the heavy cat and muffler are still supported by the hangers.

First hanger. Spray all the hangers w/wd40 to ease removing them.

Second and third cut were before tailpipe hanger and just after the muffer.

Using channel locks squeeze the titty/flange through the rubber mount/hanger. WD40 make it slide out real nice.

Drop it all on the ground and get started on the DP.

Got my exhaust a few days ago. The stainless tip is very high quality as is the rest of the exhaust. It looks so huge in the box!!
It does not look like any pieces could be cut down as AK suggested. All the pipes are very close to same length.
I'll get more pictures of the install planed for tomorrow.

I also ordered a system for my Titan truck, can't wait for that one.

the bottom pic shows one pipe that is longer IIRC it doesn't need to be much shorter to make it fit usps

Grrrr, I really don't like you rust free southern boys!

;)

I spent 47 years in the Fridgid rusty north putting floors in 6-7 Year old cars rotten brake lines ect. I would tow a car 1000 miles before I would ever buy any of those rust buckets up north now, Now that I live down here I can not think of any good reason to live up there, Im not kidding

Remove down pipe

To access DP remove air box. It had two bolt holding it. They are a 13mm and a 10 mm up under the inner fender. (10mm already removed) (hole to right of ratchet)

Remove the rubber boot from the turbo and air box. Need a 5/16" socket to remove clamps.

Remove band clamp holding exhaust pipe to turbo. Need a 7/16" deep socket, ratchet wrench work well also.
exhaust install DE 014.jpg
Srayed it with some WD40 first.

There is a trick to the clamp. You do not have to remove the nut completely. Just back it off far enough to disengauge the tee bolt from the clamp

The clamp can be stuck on the turbo flange if so use a screwdriver to snap the three sections of the clamp loose

Installation

Installation is pretty much the reverse. Just follow the instruction provided with the system. These are some tips if you only have a Sawzall or even a hack saw. To get a straight cut I use a hose clamp as a guide. Mark where you need to cut then tighten hose clamp on the mark.
Next hang the DP. This took two pepole I called my brother to come help for a few minutes. If your by yourself I have not found a way to hold DP up tight enough to the turbo to be able to get the clamp on. This would be on a new system install. On a old existing system its easier and can be done alone. If anyone has a secret to installing a new DP by yourself let me know.

Next hang the muffler in the stock location. On the Suburban there will be a gap from intemediate pipe to muffler. Meassure the gap and cut the 24" pipe to fill the gap.

Gap filled.

One thing about this system is they have not perfected the front hanger that come in the kit. So, you will need to cut the OEM one off and weld it to the new hanger/clamp.

The rest is pretty much straight forward.
I forgot to get pictures of tail pipe and stainless tip, but will do that tomorrow in the light.
I got to say it looks freaking awesome!

I did the down pipe by myself.

I put it up into place (lined up with the turbo outlet) and then supported the bottom with a jack stand.

Then it was a simple matter to slip the v-band clamp on a snug it up enough to hold it in place but still allow movement.

Worked for me.

I also used jack stands to hold the rest of the pipes in alignment before final tightening.

:)

You guys are lucky. I tried the jack stand, but everytime I touched the clamp the DP would fall off. I also used stands to mock eveything up before tightening anything. That ball and socket design on the DP is great too!

I did the down pipe by myself also. I don't remember for sure what I did to support it, maybe a jackstand. I used a hot wrench on one of the hangers to bend it to fit where I wanted it. And yes, that ball joint is really the cats meow. I've never worked with one before but I am definately convinced about their value.

Well now that I did not think of. Next time i'll look into tapeing it or tieing it up somehow.

Exhaust tip.

Fired it up today and I love it. Sounds exactly like I thought it would.

I'll PM you for info, but to answer your Q's It fit very well on my burban and everyone else is reporting they fit well. Only issue is that front hanger, you will need to bend/mod the DE hanger as you don't want to cut your OEM. As far as removing it later I don't know, but on mine I used band clamps on the muffler so I could straight pipe it later if wanted. The band clamp should make removal easier.
Shipping times have been very quick, Barry got his in 3 days, mine in 4.............

Did I say I love the way it sounds??? I can hear the turbo alittle now too. Has stock flat filter in it, but not for long.
