Diamond Eye truck and Suburban 4" exhaust turbo back w/muffler $299 shipped

thank you barry! I have caught the drift via your and others' posts that the Diamond Eye is about the best fitting system, aluminized or stainless out there.

I guess the aluminized OEM has lasted this long, might as well keep with aluminized, especially at that price.

Thanks woody, Barry for answering the questions, sorry it took me so long to get back. I will have my system soon and will post pictures of the install and can report my expeience. Barry told me there is a difference in the 92-93 hangers, but the 94&^ hangers will bolt right inplace and work fine.

Sawzall is your friend on this job.

This is a very good deal on price and when my buddy is looking to buy his 4" exhaust setup for his Suburban we'll be coming to you as a customer that's for sure. Thanks Leroy.

I like my DE system, it was an easy install also. There was one hanger that I modified because I didn't like how it fit. I just used the hot wrench and changed the bends in the rod a bit until I liked how it fit. I could have left it the way it was and it would have worked, just at an awkward angle.

I don't like loud exhausts, but this DE system is tolerable for me as the easy driving and highway speed sound isn't too bad for noise. That is UNTIL you start towing and pulling hills. Someday I'll scratch up enough cash to either replace the muffler, or add a second one. There was one time last fall when I dropped my son off to get his car at his friends house. There is a short but steep hill in the road about a guarter mile from this house and I was loaded with 146 cinder blocks, not sure of the weight. My son told me later that I was LOUD going up that hill.

My DE system came from Athena, OR, about 300 miles away. I was really surprised when it arrived within a couple days time.

on my de system i had to modify one of the hangers under the bed but it was easy i just had to weld the old hanger on to the new one. except for that it was completley bolt in with minimal work. took longer for me to take the old exhaust off because of a crappy sawzall and dull blades

I had the same issue with my DE system, not a big deal for me I just cut the mount off the old exhaust made the radius a little bigger with a BFH and welded it on to a 4" clamp, other than that it fit real good, Just get it all up in there with some jackstands and fiddle with it until you like the fit them Clamp er Down

Cool.

I'll wait to hear back from you.

Best price I've seen yet by the way.

The Diamondeye box is the one I measured when I was checking on the hearthrob system for you. USPS won't ship that big of a box. If you could get diamondeye to put it in several smaller boxes[the De pieces are smaller than hearthrob] that may work to be able to ship USPS. Or have it shipped to a TTS member in the NW and pay them to rebox and ship usps. Just a thought. Just about anything is better than paying the blackmale, I mean brokerage fee.

I was going to suggest earlier that he post in the "need something hauled" section. Even if he can just get it accross the border then ship it from there...???

It's been gone around six ways from Sunday Leroy.

Despite some very generous offers by forum members my geographical location makes it pretty much the same price to ship it right to my door as to shipping it to the border, having someone pick it up and then get it to me.

One of the many joys of living on an island......

Athena OR is where their factory is located.

I've driven up Hy 11 from Pendleton to Walla Walla many times and all you see from the Hy is a grain farming communuty, very small. Their location must be back off the Hy up one of the coulees, unless it's hidden in one of the grain silos.

Here's a vid that may give some hints:

Or, plug this into a GPS:

107 W.Main
Athena, OR

;)

Edit:

Just checked google earth, it's there. Off the main road a bit, but it's there....

Hey BJ, thanks for the video link. That was very interesting.

I now know why I've never seen anything. The main part of town is hidden from Hy 11. I looked it up and the 07 population was 1250, not as small as it looks like from Hy 11.

Wow! just checked UPS tracking I should have my system by days end Wensday.

BJ, Im waiting for them to open this morning to call about shipping. Will let you know later.

Awesome.

This money is burnign as hole in my pocket and I've got to get rid of it!

:rolleyes5:

Just emailed you. Let me know.
They will not ship usps, but will UPS with the options that build in the brokerage fee. Shipping that way is faster so will cost more. Do you know what fees will be? I can get a quote for shipping and we can see witch way is cheaper.

Leroy, just remember a few things when dealing with UPS and Canada:

- there is NO customs fee (duty) charged by Canada! (Auto Parts are a free-trade item)
- items which can be included in brokerage include HST (Harmonized Sales Tax), currently 12% in BC, I believe. HST isn't always included in a brokerage transaction, though; it may be separately billed to the end-user.
- UPS can charge a 'reasonable' fee for completing the brokerage paperwork. (note variable definition of word 'reasonable')

That's why we hate UPS. The exact same item, with the exact same value, weight, packaging, origin/destination can be wildly variable (from 15% to 80% of item cost) in terms of what gets charged out as brokerage. UPS has no explanation for this, usually defaulting, as (Walt does at SSDiesel) to blaming the Canadian Government or Border guys, which is patently false.

If you can get UPS to declare that entire amount up-front, and not send another bill to BJ later, then you've found a good way of going about this.

HI Jim.

The following services in UPS have the brokerage built into the shipping costs:

UPS Worldwide Express Plus, UPS Worldwide Express, UPS Worldwide Express Saver, and UPS Worldwide Expedited Services. World ease is another one.

In a way, you still pay it through higher shipping costs. It's just that you know the amount up front....

I've used UPS world ease before and didn't get any "surprises" at the door....

Taxes are a different story...:rolleyes5:
