93 6.5 help plz

Here's probably stupid question but can you hillbilly rig a 4inch exhaust with flex pipe or is it not a good idea on the 6.5

Leroy sells good exhausts. The flex pipe won't fit well and any frame contact will drive you nuts with rattle.

New parts never mean good parts. Always start over and NEVER give a new part a free pass unless you just re-tested it. Get a light triggered tach and make sure you have cranking 100 RPM cold and 150 RPM hot otherwise these engines won't start. Batteries, battery cables corrode on the inside, ground connections, starters loose a brush and 50% of their RPM... Post a video of it cranking and we can tell by ear the crank speed.

A bad lift pump will give you symptoms of a bad head and rotor with hard starting. Some of us cheap SOB's will run a glow plug bypass and trigger the self limiting glow plugs to get the engine to fire with a worn IP. Don't do this with factory plugs as they will burn out quick. Air is the #1 step to check for after a working lift pump via a clear return line off the IP to the return rail.

Turbo's are a big ball of wax. I have run both a ATT and a HX40II. Depends on what you are doing, but, the bigger turbo is the ATT and it generates the same dyno power as the HX40, but, with 14 PSI vs 24 PSI of boost. For high load, grades, and towing the ATT is the way to go. Both are better than the stock turbo that becomes a restriction over 2200 RPM. Lots of Turbo info on here.

Wow that was a lot to read but very help full you all really know your stuff and thanks yet agen

o_O Psssst.....

This is a thread about a 1993 DB2 mechanical injected 6.5. PMD's didn't come out till 1994.

So the OP really can't use a PMD! :p
