5.7 diesel up and running

I have always wondered about the purpose of a coolant filter other than on some of the big rigs where the filter has DCA additive that slowly goes into the system. all the time I have wrenched on trucks at work I have never seen one get dirty or clog up.

on your LP. if the IP can't handle more than 6-7 psi and the pump is rated for 12, I would add a regulator in line or a tee with a smaller line looping back to the tank just to make sure it never goes over what the pump can handle. those pumps are pulse driven not a gear driven pump so your gauge needle will bounce. my test gauge needle bounces so much that I can't get an accurate reading at idle without a snubber on it.
