What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

That’s the conclusion I came to. A person can try to do the electrical pulse thing and try to rejuvenate an old battery. Seen people do that then drain the acid and put in new acid as an attempt. Either way doesn’t matter if you know which it is unless you plan to try scrubbing the plates...

Yeah- I am convinced one of those engineers was on that team. And people say nothing good comes from a punch in the mouth, well if that engineer had been hit hard enough…

@dbrannon79 One shorted battery will often kill a good one connected to it. You can try the one battery by itself to see if it will hold- if so a recon battery or one from a junkyard to match it becomes the gamble. Otherwise get two new ones. Of the other truck is down, steal those batteries.

    Cylinder Head and Camshaft Comparison.

I have wished it before. If a feller can do the roller rockers- that design we have is now the most desirable one on shafts. A better design is the type that are adjustable like the sbc- but since our lifters have the way better design - it really isn’t needed. The only advantage of the...

    2013 Escalade ESV w/ SLP TVS2300

Viper alarms w/ remote start used to be good units. I never kept up with them over the years. Cracked rim there is weldable. Balance the rim by weld/ grind with a tire first. Here there are specialty shops that fix rims.

What turbo, what boost, what exhaust pipe, how much fuel?

    Cylinder Head and Camshaft Comparison.

Zombie thread flash-back. Any new input? Being as I am doing centermount- I am trying to figure out a log looking header. Basically headers that have the collector at the rear. Soon to hassle @n8in8or about his header info he learned … On my p400 heads I am leaning strong on only smooching...

`Smokey Starts getting worse with the colder weather

We all can spend money and pay others to fix the trucks. Instead we buy tools and diy. Long term owning a 6.2/6.5 it makes sense to me to have a pop tester. Diy make one for cheap. Sometimes gubmint auctions have them cheap. Ebay sells a cheap one you can flush really well, adapt your...

And if you don’t NEED head studs for additional boost, power, etc. DO NOT USE THEM. I’m adding studs to mine and am wishing I could use bolts. You said put on the sealant and waited three days. There is like 20 versions of how to do this. Did he chamfer the block for the permatex created...

Yeah the timing cover/waterpump engineering abortion is a super common fight for oil/water leaks. I stopped using them for “the right stuff” years ago. Needing the proper thickness of it in place when running gear drive is the only reason imo to have a gasket there. So when needed I spend an...

    My 2005 Yukon XL

Yeah- the 300 is like the movie- you are about to go to war against the Spartans. Time to gear up and hunker down. Choose to do massive diagnostics at the beginning and like I mentioned before, write everything down in a notebook so you can track it all. Not just for this diagnosis but 4 years...

    My 2005 Yukon XL

Yup- I would chase the injectors next. Normally when diagnosing and you pull the plugs- do compression test. Remembering gassers get a dry then wet test. Recording those numbers for long term tracking and diagnostics is a smart move imo.

To ID the oil is source of grey smoke- just drain all the oil and drive a couple thousand miles! Haha. Ok, maybe not. If you vent to atmosphere rather than pull back into the turbo- clean oil off the turbo and clean the intake manifold and plumbing best you can- then drive it a while like that...

    My 2005 Yukon XL

In the ds4 hummer world- many guys use the scangauge2 because it plugs into obd2 and a bit of setting up lets it display i think 4 items at a time to monitor (boost, temp, etc). Attached to the dash works & looks ok. Read & clear codes but idk if it can do the timing. Definitely more than...

    Air in Fuel Injection

Yes I am. Problem is the ip is supposed to be the high point other than the filter bleed. And if the filter is sealed properly- the ip return could drain out either way. I’m wondering about easier ways to determine which half. Cut the clear line in half, connect with double barb fitting...

On the PLUGS not having problems lately-because you aren’t hearing enough people still making the MISTAKE OF BUYING them. It has been exactly 2 weeks to the day since I walked someone through their problem in a 6.5 hummer who had issues with a set he bought the week before. He had the problem of...

    VSS problem

My suggestion was gonna be what our Alaskan buddy said. Remove oring to test fit. You should almost always use the liquid the oring is sealing to lubricate it. I say almost because one time and one time only I saw a warning not to on a small aircraft engine that had orings on the fuel system...

    Hello..new Hino owner member

Nope. There is not a single rule of thumb for that. The preload torque you tighten the bearing to is as low as 2lbs on some bearings and 400lbs on others. Then back it off and set to the next hole vs no backing off, but going to the next hole. So the correct answer is all over the place...
