    Speedometer vs odometer?

You cant have a 22gal tank. There is only a 26 gal. or 34 gal. tanks for short and long boxes and 40 gal for the subs. With 245 my speedo was ahead, with 265 it is correct and with the 285 it is slower than real. Cu, Sven

    Leaf spring time

I love to keep it simple, so why not just Rancho Add-A-Leaf's ? Got them on my truck and I love them. Installed and forget. Just my 2 cents ! Cu, Sven

Going to buy a new alternator tomorrow...?

I would go with a new BOSCH unit from Rockauto.com. Replaced mine a few weeks ago and I AM totally satisfied. Was ~ 111 $ NEW. 105 amps http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?25185-How-long-do-the-105A-alternators-last Cu, Sven

    4WD converting itself to 2WD

Posi-Lok is the one and only solution ! Works manual, when YOU want 4WD, stays engaged, when ignition is turned off and also provides 2Low for manouvring a trailer and not much expensive than the conversion to the newer style actuator. Cu, Sven

Could something as dumb as a.............

The 2-stroke-oil is made for burning and lubricating an engine, so there is no problem with. It lube the IP, the injectors and the liftpump also. In a lot of situations, the adding of the 2-stroke-oil cured the code 35/36 fault. Not evry, but a lot. the newer ULSD fuel is not the best for our...

Could something as dumb as a.............

Add some 2-stroke-oil to your fuel tank with every fill up. Ratio 1:200 But the fuel cap could be the problem also. If you leave it loose, did the codes come back ? Cu, Sven

How long do the 105A alternators last ?

So, I order a NEW Bosch CS-130 alternator from Rockauto.com. ~ 111 US-$ plus ~ 78 US-$ for ExpressMail to germany. It took only THREE days and the alternator arrived here. I didn't paid any sales tax and no import taxes - okay, I dont know why, but who cares. So the total in euro is ~ 135 €. The...

How long do the 105A alternators last ?

I think I'll order one from rockauto.com. They sell a NEW bosch unit for ~ 100 $ (and with a discount code a little lower) plus shipping without core charge, so I hope the bosch alternator will last longer than the others. NORMALLY the name Bosch is standing for quality, but who knows today...

How long do the 105A alternators last ?

So, anyone knows a reputable remanufactor/vendor/etc. you could trust and who sells a CS-130 for a 1995 Chevy K2500 6.5TD Engcode "S" ? Change the whole alternator or buy parts and change the regulator, new brushes and the rectifier ? Wanna hear some opinions ! The problem is, parts are more...

How long do the 105A alternators last ?

The title says it. How long do they last ? The original one lastet about 100.000 Kilometers or from 1995 to 2007). In 2007 I put in a new one and this thing went bad yesterday. ONLY 3 years (or not more than 15.000 Kilometers) ??????????? What the F.... ? Tomorrow I have to speak with the...

    axle ratio effect chip

Stay with the 3.42 gears. Why ? In O7D you got 3.42 but if you want to tow, stay in 3rd. than you got 4.10 gears, so .... Cu, Sven

98 K2500 Suburban thermostats, sending unit or temp gauge?

In my opinion, you should install 2 new RobertShaw Style 180°F T-stats (got mine from kennedy diesel) and then start from there. I Think they are the best you can get. 160°F is to cold for a diesel and in most summers with towing the 195°F is too hot. After changeing the t-stats, check the...

Why do people say to remove the plastic engine cover?

I hate any plastic cover on an engine. I want to see the engine if I open the hood and not such a crappy plastic cover. It is an engine compartment and not a show and shine showroom ! Just my 2 cents. --- And I also agree with the airflowthing, etc. Cu, Sven

CHMSL wiring in a truck cap/canopy/topper?

Mine already got a wire incl. a fuse for a CHMSL on the driverside, coming up behind the driverside taillight and comes out inside the box, just below the rails. Perhaps you should have a look there. If not, it shouldn't be so difficult to build by your own. Crab a testlight or got a wiring...

    RPM's

Looks like, that you have to buy a new pulley. I know, there was a place/site, where you could buy the pulley only, but I just can't remember. Perhaps another member knows the site or has a "spare" pulley. Cu, Sven
