Daytime running lights

It is required(In most states) that Motorcycles have the headlight on to distingush it from a car. The whole idea of DTRLs negates that and put's motorcycles in more danger.

not to distinguish it just to make them more visible. No one sees bikes ask me how I know.

Well, up in these parts, while I'm travelling at 100KPH, and where other motor vehicles are hurtling toward me at 100KPH with only a strip of paint on the road separating us, the DRL is very much appreciated.

DRL saves lives, there is no legitimate argument that I have ever heard against them.

I disabled mine on all the ttrucks that had them and my car, it is rude as hell not to be able to use parking lights at night when you are parked, going threw a drive threw, leaving a drive in movie, getting fuel, backing in at a truck stop, of pulling into a driveway in a allotment where your lights shine in peoples windows, you can flash your low beams to let truckers merge. HATE them. if i cant see a car without headlights coming at me, maybe i should stay in my lane :D

all you have to do to disable them is slightly depress your parking brake so that the brake light in the dash comes on

The lights that should be banned are the HID lights that blind oncoming drivers. The daytime running lights produce very little glare.

x2 did you know they are called "non-blinding" headlights? Those things are horrible.

As for the DRL, i disconnect all of them on my personal vehicles. I like the ability as deere says to run only my parking lights while still in motion. But i do agree that for the majority of the population, the car must think for them, or at least compensate for the inability to make decisions. Such as turning on your lights at dawn/dusk

:iagree:

All I ask for is a little common sense, but most people have it confused with common stupidity.

Some pictures of MY solution :

Do it yourself DRL (look like the newer Silverados) :

and the HID conversion with 6000K : (high beam is retired till now)
