    Project time again

My next project has been to ditch the stack of helper springs and install a set of air bags from airlift. The helper springs function well, but they ride very rough and make a ton of noise. The leafs clap together and hit the upper stops while driving on any road surface with bumps. Two...

    Project time again

So now that winter is back around, Ive had some time to work on my truck. We get so busy thoughout the year I dont have the time for anything but routine maintinence or emergency fixes. As always, Ive got a long list of things I want to do, but time will tell how much I can actually finish...

    GM Cab Styles....

The 3rd door was introduced as an option in 97'. Meaning there were alot of extended cab trucks built after 97' without the 3rd door. As for 3rd door with the diesel? Thats a good question. Im not sure I have ever seen one. Anybody out there have one? Im not aware of a 4 door extended cab...

    Auto Meter Gauges

x2 on the diff cover. Looks great! Some of the aftermarket covers I have seen look like a cheap or "tacky" upgrade, but that looks really nice. When mine rots out ill probably do the same. -Nick

    Weatherpack Kits..Where to buy?

Trust me. I didnt expect it to be that easy. Haha. Thats why I posted the question here. Yea I really was just looking for a kit to use when making my own harnesses for the truck, but it would be an added bonus if I was able to replace any broken or missing OEM connectors on the truck from...

6.5L failed emissions smog test. Any ideas?

Glad to see you passed. I cannot believe the testing procedure on your first visit. I would have left in a hurry to find another shop. You would hope that someone in that position had done a truck or two before, and knew what they were doing, but i guess not. I guess there is one thing...

Is this what ULSD is supposed to look like?

Dosent look to far off if you ask me...Alot of times the container, sunlight, etc can cause the color to apear different. -Nick

    Weatherpack Kits..Where to buy?

Ok guys, I started searching online for a kit containing the factory GM style plugs and Im a little overwhelmed now. Most of our trucks are say in the 95'-98' era. I cant seem to figure out if I should be buying a metripack kit? Or weatherpack? or something else? I would be looking for a full...

    Glow Plug Opinions (another one)

I think I am going to get a set of the quick heat plugs from kennedy, as I have used them on my 6.5 with good results. And they are on sale to boot! Still would like to hear opinions. -Nick

    Glow Plug Opinions (another one)

Hey guys, Im gonna replace all the glows in our 6.2 and need some opinions. The truck is used by a few different drivers so a manual override switch is out of the question. I wanted to know what you guys think is the best glow plug to replace them with. I dont think the 60G's are necassary...

    Auto Meter Gauges

Looks awesome marty! I installed the same overhead console as you with the filler plate for exactly the reason of being able to add guages. I had planned on making a mounting plate when I got that far, but the one you purchased looks nice. Where the heck did you find that guage plate?? -Nick

    New Lights. Show and Tell

Few weeks ago, I posted looking for opinions on parking lights. Now that Ive gotten a chance to install everything, I figured Id share what I found and how they look. I ordered my headlights from LMC. A bit more expensive than ebay, but I figured Id have better luck with the quality and...

    Opinions on new parklight styles

Tried some of the headlight restore "tricks" with compound, sandpaper etc. The lights are still very yellowed and fogged. Plus they overall performance of these lights are horrible anyways. Time to try something else. I ended up ordering a set of the stock replacement lenses for the...

    electrical gremlin. any ideas?

x2 on the above. Ive had some wierd electrical issues like you described with battery problems before. I would double check that in fact both batteries are good. I know you said they are almost new, but disconect them both, and load test individually. Clean the terminals and try again...

What else should I do while I have the intake off?

I would deffinetly replace your factory fuel lines as well as all the o-rings in the ffm. You can route them back in the stock location or leave them outside the engine valley for easier repairs/maintnence down the road. I chose to mount mine up and over the intake manifold. This worked well...

    Opinions on new parklight styles

I agree with the black trim rings all day long. Ive seen ones without them and it just dosent look right IMHO. Ive spent alot of time searching pictures online looking at everyone elses settups, and it seems almost everyone goes to an aftermarket parklight lense when replacing the headlights. I...
