Well now thats not even funny.....ok maybe it is
Here in western CT we picked up somewhere between 28-32" Kind of hard to tell because it was blowing around quite a bit. Some places there is 4ft and others only 6". Tire chains were a must if you were plowing with a pickup this storm. And...
Funny you ask....I've spent the last half an hour or so looking on line for exactly that. There are two places that make tanks for the newer trucks, but from what I can find, not much for oversized tanks for our trucks.
I found one place that looks to build custom tanks and aux tanks for where...

Yea definetly not a concrete tomb full of diesel. To clarify....Its a double wall 500gal steel tank with a 6" barrier of concrete around the ouside of it. Expensive son of a gun but it was required by town ordinance when we last upgraded our old tanks.

We have an on-site concrete fuel tank that I use to re-fuel the truck. Maybe once or twice a year it gets fueled else where. I change the filters on our tank pump regularly too, so I dont see that as being an issue.
As for the sock....im sockless. Took it off after trying to narrow down some...
I was under the impression that most people arent even using the 6.2 heads, rather using the stock 6.5 heads? Or maybe im wrong..
Can the stock pistons be ceramic coated? or can they be bought at different compression ratios?

So ive got some material starting to show up in the bowl of my racor filter. Thoughts on this?
Im thinking the tank lining has started to come apart. To the best of my knowlage this is the original tank to the truck (17 years old 125K miles) so it very well could be that time.
Last...
How about boost pressures? I have been told the 6.2 block should be run at lower boost pressures than a 6.5 block, but i cant seem to figure out why. Same block with a slightly smaller bore....
When locating a crack free block, the 6.2's are alot easier to find vs. the 6.5's and alot cheaper...
None of my 6.5 trucks have a strap resembling that one. My guess is an add-on as well. The factory engine to frame stap is alot smaller and on the pass side of mine.
Might as well find a bolt for it and use it anyways. Cant see it hurting anything.

Does anyone know of a reputable company for fixing OEM radios? I bought a "new" factory nav unit for my 06' and after a couple months the CD drive no longer works. It just reads "disc error" or something like that and makes noises like it is trying to load. I'd like to get it fixed after...
Ok, so I know this is not engine related....But this is the group I wanted to share this with, as I thought you would all appreciate this.
After the horrible events of last week in Newtown, CT I wanted to do a little something in rememberence. I lived in Newtown for a few years after high...
I think i speak for many when I say I appreciate the open discussion. I understand and agree about paying to be a vendor. But it also is a product that no other vendor here offers (that I am aware of). My favorite part of these forums is being able to share information with others who share the...
Really? My gm4 is near imposible to hear. For the short time I had a cone style filter it was audiable but not loud. With the k47 airbox it is silent.

335K miles on my father's 03 LB7. Third set of injectors and second trasfer case. Other than that mostly just maint. items. Still runs and drives like its got 50K miles and I wouldnt hesitate to take it anywhere. Allison still shifts perfect.
Very impressed in general with the longevity of...
