Let's see now...
The turbo specs will include number of blades, compressor diameter, turbine diameter, housing aspect ratio, housing volumetric flow spec, and a bunch of other variables and complex equations for working with those variables in a given atmospheric environment.
Suppose somebody...
Good for you, Haggus!
Hint: If you are serious about the ATT, don't do the intercooler just yet. It is a lot of work that really improves a GMx turbo, but experience is proving an intercooler superfluous with an ATT.
Bill Heath, John Kennedy, Chicago TDP, Canadian Rigger, Turbine Doc, and a bunch of other guys have all made (relatively) big power with the 6.5td.
Anybody who elected to run over 15 psi also went with studs, new cometics, and made sure the top end was fine. Anybody who elected to run high...
Bad injector; sounds/looks like it's peeing a stream rather than a mist.
Crack injectors while idling as noted above and pull the one that doesn't change. Put the old one back in there for now while you test the bad one.
F'r crying out loud, people... We don't need the drama.
Who CARES about the specs? A few self-proclaimed 'experts' decided that they could use numbers in strange ways to start a turbo war. They neglected simple (but important) things like turbo exhaust back pressure, mass airflow, the...
Sounding like fuel delivery issue. Where is your fuel pressure gauge tapped in?
If not to the delivery line (from LP), then:
Step 1: get a fuel gauge and about 6' of rubber hose, a few small hose clamps (for the fuel gauge and the WIF Drain), and a zip tie or electrical tape (to tie the gauge...
We're also limited by fuel. 15 PSI is probably flowing almost as much air as we need, in most applications with a DS4. Like Ferm said, just enough to get a light haze.
After you have enough hot air, any extra is just bragging. :D
That there is a true statement. I guess some people just can't help themselves.
Not sure if there's one word, but if there is, it applies to Dennis ... also to Matt at Peninsular.
You can only do the TCC toggle on an OBD-I... ( 1994, 1995). Your 1996 is an OBD-II. You will need the signal to be pulse width modulated or you risk burning out your TCC solenoid.
as for programming it into the ECM, all the guys doing reflashes do that. It is the easiest and safest way to...
Start with simple stuff that doesn't cost you anything.
1] When the truck is not running, open the water drain valve from your fuel manager (brass T-Handle) and see if it pees diesel out the drain line (also attached to that T-handle) when the key is turned to run.
... if it doesn't, then...
I hate to say this, but...
Can you please copy the Diagnostic Checklist (found in my signature) - fill it out - and then paste it back into a post here?
Doing so will accomplish a number of things:
- it will get you to do some pretty basic and yet necessary maintenance, or confirm that you...
