I have a friend with a Dingo that got water in the hydraulic tank. It uses 15W40 oil. We changed the oil and fixed the seal where the water got in, but I was wondering how many times he should change it again to flush out the lines and pistons. It holds about ten gallons, so finding the balance...
What year 6.2 did you swap in? I just went off information, I did not try to fit the engine over the front diff. But my understanding was that the early 6.2's (which I have) had a different pan that would not fit.
Do you have a turbo on it? If so what did you use for the exhaust?
Which oil port would you hook the turbo up to? There are the two oil cooler lines, then there is one hole that did not have anything in it when I got the engine (not sure what was hooked up there, if anything) then the plugged hole.
Here is a list of the gotchas that I have run into so far.
When converting a 6.2 v belt to a serpentine belt, requires a different water pump and front cover as the water pumps have a different bolt pattern
If you install the water pump before installing the HB make sure that you do not allow...
Got some more work done on this Saturday. I decided that it will be easier to swap the entire harness from the truck rather than patch the original gas harness. This will allow the computer to control the glow plugs, the low coolant light will work with no wire patching.... basically all of the...
Is it 4X4? I don't have much knowledge on the transmission, but I did have my transfer case shift fork wear out and allow it to slip out of gear and grind. There are some other folks around here that really know these transmissions............
AC systems have a high and a low pressure switch (two switches) Think one of them is on the dryer, the other is probably on the compressor. You could jumper both, but I would probably just put a volt meter on the wires going into the coil at the compressor and see if it has power.
This is where it is frustrating working in a maintenance shop. The owners say "WHY! did it take five hours to change out the thingamajig?.....There is only five bolts, I probably could have done it in five minutes."
And you think..............."yea but it took me four hours and fifty six...
Thinking about the electrical system. I am slowly trying to wrap my mind around which wires I need to keep and which ones I need to cut. My main question right now is a wire or two that runs from the ABS controller to the computer. I assume that the ABS needs a speed signal input, but since I...
Progress tonight was taking the grill and bumper off and getting ready to hook up all the coolers (trans, oil and power steering.)
So far the trans cooler is going ok (have to bend the lines a little bit to fit around a 2" receiver the PO welded in the front)
My oil cooler off the parts truck...
how many are there? Are they in Charlotte NC? I am not that far away............please say they are on the other side of the universe....don't need to be tempted to by more stuff right now.
The Walbro is sitting on a plate bolted to the frame, and the filter base is also bolted to the frame. Should not be any weight hanging on the pipe. Leroy's filter setup has 3 mounting bolt holes in the filter base (I trimmed the top one off because of the tight fit) so the filter has two bolts...
I had an IP that had a shake at idle. When I shut off the cylinders one at a time they all dropped the same amount, but after doing it several times I noticed that one cylinder took about two or three seconds to recover after I turned it back on while the other cylinders recovered instantly. I...
Well Will got one side of the picture......it is a pain stripping the front of the engine down...... but as far as complicated its not too bad a job, I did mine when I was sixteen and did not know what the camshaft was that the timing chain was timing...............I just lined up the marks and...
