It still ran... The complete total destruction tear down 1995 Suburban

If you think the pictures look bad, you should have seen it in person. The photos of #8 don't do it justice. The entire piston skirt was on the oil pickup, The engine oil had the color and consistency of mercury. There was literally chunks of piston in every rod and main bearing. The only...

    Body Lift

Yeah, well I'm not ready to do a spring over swap and ditch the IFS, so its getting a body lift first. :agreed:

    Body Lift

I know some of the 3500 series trucks had a body lift from the factory, anyone done one on a half ton? Wondering about clearance around the turbo and passenger inner fender mostly. Casey

    Intake manifold on 1995 6.5

The manifold isn't bad, some of the hold downs on injector lines can be fun if they have never been off before. Don't forget to replace your fuel lines under there while the manifold is off too ;)

Anyone interested in helping me with labor on 6.5 powertrain swap?

Last night was rather anti-climactic. I want sound clips posted of it running when the lift pump gets in! So its all together, and the LP is making somewhere between 0 and 1 psi at the fuel drain. Someones been running too much Bio in a stock LP methinks :nonod: Nice cable come-along/load...

    Balljoints, 94 K1500

If i remember right, the 3/4 ton trucks have a larger front diff than my heavy half ton. Its a very tight fit to get the lower arm off with the halfshaft in. If the diff was 1" wider, the flanges would prevent the bolt from coming out....

    Balljoints, 94 K1500

Mine had a couple indentations, if you rotate the halfshaft, you can work the bolt out... I used a drift from the rear and tapped it out. The corners of the head of the bolt WILL drag. Once the knuckle, tie rod, upper arm, and sway bar are off, I pulled the front bolt and was able to wiggle the...

    Balljoints, 94 K1500

For what its worth, you don't have to take the halfshafts out to get the knuckle off. The rear lower control arm bolt is a bear to get out with the halfshaft in tho. I drive 8 miles of dirt road to get from my place to the pavement. I wasn't willing to drive around with no boot on one ball...

    Balljoints, 94 K1500

Hey guys, I posted this in suspension, thought I would cross post it here. Balljoints Does the halfshaft have to come out to get the lower balljoint out? Is pulling the nut and leaning the steering knuckle out enough to get the halfshaft out of the bearing? Don't want to mess with the...

    94 k1500 balljoints

Quick question, looks like to remove the lower balljoints from the steering knuckle, I will have to remove the halfshafts. Correct? Can I get the lower arm off the steering knuckle without taking the halfshaft off the pumpkin? Trying to disassemble as little as possible, doing this in the...

Failed CA smog inspection with aftermarket items!

Here in wonderful Az, they make you snap the throttle yourself, that way the state can say they arent liable, you did it. Dont see why you dont just screw a block of wood to the backside of your peddle for the test tho....

Truck went "click" and now I have no power.

I got mine from eGay, they are a little on the big side, I got the 3/8" post. Had to file the mega just a little to fit. I wanted a big post for the 00 battery cables tying the batterys together, and the starter to the batterys. They were like 6 bucks each.

Truck went "click" and now I have no power.

fuse-able link On the factory cable there is a fuseable link. That's the battery end. The other end attaches here. When I went to 00 welding cable instead of the pvc junk they sell at autoparts stores, I did away with the fuseable link, and added a 175 amp fuse between the battery +...
