Parking lot at jobsite has an icy up-ramp right before the KeyCard gate. of course, it is uphill, and since you need to put a mag key in the slot, you can't take a run at it. So I use 4x4 every day, for 30 feet. :)

I'd rather put in a lock nut than a couple of washers... if anything there allows movement, it sort of defeats the purpose.

Mike, I feel for ya. these envoys are neat little SUVs, but they are a serious pita to fix. Mine is 2003XL, 4.2l 4x4. 5speed in front fan is dead, airbag light is on, seat belt circuit is stuck, rear heat is erratic. Now my dashboard is crapping out... tach died a while ago, Speedo is going...

If it is a stud, shouldn't it have a lock nut up tight to the starter, then the bracket, then the main nut? That would provide stability to the stud, and take care of the space, too.

That is such a sweet truck... but my wife would kill me dead if I showed up with more iron...

I honestly don't know, but it was a crapcan GM car... something smaller. I took one of my wiper arms to the local pick-a-part and shopped until I found some that fit. I did have different length wipers on the new arms than what was original, but it seemed to work good.

Looks like 'Over' wins... but the quality and style is yet to be decided.

Hey Les - On my old truck, I went to the wreckers and got some newer wiper arms (with integrated nozzles) then extended the hoses to those arms. I just got tired of playing with the nozzles coming loose.

Les, if it came out of the Brown slot I believe it's PCI-e. The cream-coloured slots are PCI. You can also tell from the card connector edge configuration:
