Open the hood, un-clip the lower bale connector on the engine harness and pull out approximately 1/4", it is not easily noticed and will allow the truck to crank but not start.
My advice is have the DEALER do the job, glow plug ends can swell and then break when being removed. IIRC you are covered for $100 deductible and if they break it they own it.
I would not take the chance for $100.

I can set you up with a spare ecm, DPF Delete, EGR disabled, Speed Limiter Gone.

You don't need EFI-Live either, the ecm comes pre-programmed for your truck. You will need a loaner V2 to program the glow plug module but that can be arranged as well.

Pewter was available with graphite interior in 2002, thechevyhdman had that same combo in a chevy. I would assume it was in 2001 as well ???
