What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Thinking about it- sounds like time you buy one of those $6,000 hmmwvs with only a thousand miles on it with an optimizer. Transfer things like att and such to it…
Mt has no problem putting those on the road. Eric’s latest one had under 500 miles on it.
F the Hummer. Not practical for my needs. Just too much compromise on highway use to get it to an area where it shines. I use the Suburban for fishing, towing boats and hauling fishermen with their shit.

Depending on what's available, if you found a cheap low mileage Hummer, it might be worth it for the block.

Is there oil in it now? Guessing so or you would have the messy pic.
So just loose pressure?

How low was pressure before it happened and how fast did it drop off?
Oil at the very bottom of the dipstick. Rear barn door windows are caked in oily dust. I had to keep going to a place that I could turn around.

AAA initially ok’d me for tow. Said the driver would text or call me in 10 minutes. We waited at Hwy 93 as there is no cell service up where the truck was. Text never came, so an hour later I call AAA and got a supervisor on. They said they could not provide service as it’s a one lane dirt road. Thanks for the call back on that.

April and I were headed out in her 2023 4Runner anyway to collect my fishing gear and other stuff in the Burb. All I needed was a tow from that level area I coasted to a stop and the rest was downhill. I coasted past the seasonal closure gate to the pave two lane road where there is a large paved turnout area off the road. AAA has to tow from there. AAA does not take appointments, so I will call in the am.

I have an engine stored in a military crate down in Fullerton. It had 185K on it when we pulled it out of the ‘95 Suburban my son flipped on black ice in Southern Utah. We have not gone through it. Not worth it for me to go 1250 miles to Fullerton and turn around to bring it back up to Montana. I’d just order and have a new Optimizer shipped to Montana where there is no sales tax.

My local Mechanic, Eagle Watch Automotive, works on 6.5s. I’ve seen him do a bullet proofing job on a 6.0 Excursion. I am comfortable with him doing the work. I’ve pulled a 6.5 before, so I know I can do the work. It’s just an issue of my available time at the moment and I am up in MT on leave because my wife is getting a pacemaker installed for AFIB.

The irony here is that I was all set to install new valve covers with the Leroy girdle to address that oil leak on the passenger side.

Had she had an ablation?

They said a pace maker wouldn't work for me. Something about having murmurs, aflutter, brackacardia and tachycardia
I do fine for long periods at a time, but get crazy and am all over the place. I've only been in Afib several days this year, but I had all the other goofy stuff going on pretty regularly.
Seeing the oncology cardiologist next week.
They're scared to do an implant because of weird reactions I've had previously.

I wish her the best of luck.
There's danger with even the simplest of procedures

She had an ablation, which worked for a year. Then it deteriorated like before. Electro cardio surgeon gave her the option of another ablation or the pacemaker. She surprised both of us by opting for the pacemaker.

I had 2 ablations. I never went back in rhythm. I didn't know it, but I was having reactions to all the meds they were giving me.

If the meds don't keep you in rhythm they can keep you out of rhythm.

I finally quit going to the Drs and quit taking the meds.
I started feeling better almost immediately.
.they about kilt me a few times with the meds. Took me a long time to bounce back. Years.

I went to Cleveland Clinic. The Dr I saw there said I should have been taken off the meds as soon as I reported the side effects for each one.

I think Afib may run in families.
There's a lot on my mother's side. I'm the only one that has the allergy issues. Everybody else was successful with the ablations.
After I quit the meds and recovered some, it turns out the ablations did work. I did much better for years.

I've never gone as crazy as I did before the ablations or while I was on the meds.

According to the specialist, It is also suspected that, undiagnosed, I was going through MGUS and / or Smoldering Myeloma at the same time.

Her surgeon showed her the complete map of the areas he ablated. It was some 40 to 50 spots. She felt like it would be a recurring scenario, so she opted for the permanence of a pacemaker. I have little say in this, but the decision is surprising. Given what I’ve gone through with my foot, I am not a believer in modern medicine.

To give you an idea of the road I was on, it was 1.5 lanes wide and the top of the pass is 7,200’. Cut out of the mountains, the vertical drop on fhe downside of the cut is anywhere from 500’ to 1000’. It is a stunning drive that I rarely get to enjoy.

I concur on your foot experience. I saw at least 7 podiatrists and orthopedic foot specialists, before finding one that explained exactly what was wrong and what he could do to fix it.

I found out, if a Dr says, "This is the procedure I do."

Get the hell out. That's the procedure he does whether it's appropriate for the situation or not. A lot of them doing fusion out there. With a lot of bad results.

The current Dr. Said the stretches, tens unit and appliances help, but usually are not effective because they're too time consuming.

I have to agree with him on that. I have been spending more time and have definitely seen improvement.
I'm expecting to see a little more with all of the steroids they have me on now.
It's all tied together from my bulging discs to the sciatica to my feet.
The Ininji toe socks, help a lot. I tried some cheaper brands. They didn't fit me as well.

I tried the spacers, but they hurt too bad. The toe socks coupled with the stretches seems to help a lot.

Surgery is off the table. Probably forever

AAA could never manage to get a tow truck to pick me up, so I had to arrange a commercial tow and AAA has to reimburse me per my plan. The commercial tow was recommended by everyone at our community center coffee meeting this am. I thought I was doomed when his tow truck (Cummins) overheated on the modest hill on the way to my truck. He had to stop and vent the coolant reservoir, refill with antifreeze and proceed at a slower pace, but we made it. Truck is still leaving a blood trail.

Before you guys ask, no I have not crawled under it to assess. At this point, I am afraid of what I will find. All I know is that it is toast.

My focus is to get the outer main door to the house back in place and get ready for tomorrow’s pacemaker procedure.

I planed the lock side of the door and shimmed two hinges as it was binding hard at the top and my wife was no longer able to open it, which left her going through the side door. It works now and the last coat of urethane is now dry.
