What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Yup, GM8. Move to a bigger turbo like the ATT or hx40 series along with a 4" exhaust and it will get you a couple mpg.

Heck, might open your eyes more on towing power and the bigger eyes help vision, right? Haha.

Seriously though, depending how old your injectors are (100,000 is when they wear bad) rebuilding them and making sure they are balanced to with 25 psi of each other helps in both power and mpg.

Not many things get both power and mpg increases, but those all fall under that list.

Need to borrow my +2.00 readers :)
That would help, but, do I stackum on the glasses I already wear, or use just te readers ? LOL

YUP, new reman injectors, maybe five thousand miles ago. Did not checkum for balance though. Engine idles quite smooth, they must be relatively close.
I like the idea of the ATT turbo, and the tune to match it. With this job I`m working, going to see if I can scrounge enough to get that ccomplished.
Need to rebuild front drive shaft first though, before snow flies, the yoke is wobbly on the shaft and it has a vibration so I do not run it in four wheel drive.
I seen the front nose busted off of a T~Case, the man working on it said it was because the front yoke had wore out and caused vibrations, What a mess that thing was. YEEEEOUCH.

replaced the tails and boards. one had failed to cause the blinker to not work when the lights were on. thought it was the connection but it was the board. don't like the new design.

Nice work on the center caps. The ones on the Burb are rusted through the chrome so that's on the list of TTD but, very low priority. Re-Chrome or Powdercoat...decisions decisions.

Burb: LED #168 bulbs in the reading lights. 194s in the front Map lights. Barn door locking mechanism inspected and broken clip identified and repaired. Now to fix the plastic panel around the window...garage door closed on it...more than one piece now!

Paul, those plastic panels are a dime a dozen in SoCal wrecking yards. Don't bother fixing it, just get a replacement. If you are going to be down here for the Pomona drage races, I'll make a run to grab one and add that to the pile of stuff I have for you.

Thanks Amigo, very much appreciated as always. In the meantime, I just put some Gorilla tape on the back to hold things somewhat together.
For the fun of it, here's the old incandescent 168 bulb and new LED bulbs in the Reading Lights side by side to show difference. Camera makes the dim one look brighter than it is.

Getting those things out was a bit of a challenge until I thought of using the Gorilla tape. 2 in piece folded in the middle and joined for an inch leaving 1/2 inch to adhere to the lens ("T" shape). Holding on to the base, push up, 1/4 turn and out it comes.

Today's fun was getting the new washer fluid bottle installed. PO had a unit out of a 95 (mounted next to the ABS). He'd cobbled up the pump using added hoses etc. and it wouldn't hold prime and I want that space for other things. LMC sells a kit and it goes straight in without fuss under the battery where it's supposed to be. Tape is to hold the pump wires and the water hose in place.

The Weather Tech floor mats for the front came today and look good in there. The ones for the back should be here tomorrow along with the Painless Headlight Harness.
PO really wanted both this 99 Burb and his 95 truck to be similar. He even took out the K-47 and put in a flat panel air box.

Finding a lot of little things that could use correcting. Front Differential vent hose was laying under the batter box instead of attached to the radiator fan housing. The clip was there but...
Same with the wiring harness along the driver's fender and the hood release. I guess when he did the washer tank 'mod', he undid a few things and left them undone. Again, clips are all there, just stuff free hanging. All better now.
Big T will testify that there's a couple of dictionaries out there with a picture of me next to the definition of 'anal retentive and OCD.'
Tomorrow, more TLC and what not....

Those LED lights look good, I need to do this. First I need to replace the interior light switch on the passenger side of the dash. That thing just broke and my lights are out. How hard is it to match up the right LED lights on SuperBright.com?

I got a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks for April's 4Runner. Sounds like that's my Sunday job.

Matching up the bulbs is a challenge only in that you have to know the diameter of the stock bulb and compare to the ones offered on the Super Bright web page. I used the 194s in the Map Lights for the driver & front passenger. There's room between the reflector and the socket for those to go in. Its the four reading lights over the 2nd and 3rd rows that caught me...twice. I ended up using 168 bulbs from Sylvania as I want the job done. Now I have plenty of spares. Good thing these things last forever...no...wait...dang it!

Finally got some love from the Chiropractor on my knee so I spent the rest of the day with a T.E.N.S. device attached and ice over the top of that. "Give him another jolt Warden, he's still twitching." The only thing I did to the Burb was figure out how to adjust the parking guide lines for the reverse camera and fix the loose connection for the left brake lights. Same problem with the left one on the truck, keeps coming loose so, Zip Ties to the rescue.

I`m happy some people are getting to work on their trucks.
I processed pumpkins all day, scrub, slice, bake, peel the meat and bag it up. OH YEAH, I`m gonna have pumpkin seeds galore. LOL

Well if I can get my wife to stop using her 4Runner, then I can install the new set of Bilstein 5100 gas shocks on it. Then send her to the alignment guy.

Otherwise, we have seats on the 40 for the Utah @ USC game tomorrow, plus pre-game talegater.

Installed PMD plate on skid plate, but need more space between it and skid plate to accommodate Dtech PMD plus heat sink. Suggestions?

Also replaced a split tie rod boot with Energy Suspension Urethane boot.

The PMD on the 2000 is mounted forwards of where You are mounting Yours, a bit higher too. Right under the radiator support cross member.
