ouch. 20k is alot to pay for a donor 24v.
Besides nothing is wrong with the Dodge other than Lee's Auto Ranch and thier sh^t a$$ mechanics. I got her all straightened out now so far.
OK Update...I think she's getting closer to the torch.
I fixed the fuel leak and it still runs like crap. It'll run fine for a few hundred feet then start shaking like a dog sh^ttin razor blades then finally die and be hard to start and when it finally does start it shakes violently knockin an bangin. No excessive smoke but I got some real codes now.
Code 18
Code 35
Code 54
I think that pretty much spells IP death no ?

we are talking about the 94 correct?

Why not better of 2 worlds, rip out the Cummins, put it in one of the GMs so it won't be better engine in fair truck, or fair engine in better truck.

I would go along with that... here are some nice pics of a Red Crew cab Chevy Dually with a twin turbo'd Cummins...of course that would take some big $$

You sure you dont just have some crappy fuel, maybe some gas in it :)

Sounds like you have air in the fuel lines. Im sure youve tested the LP pressure already.

Did you pull the OS filter off yet, or if it doesnt have one maybe it needs one, as this may be the exact reason they put one on.

Fuel looked pretty good. Ran the LP through pin G. No problem. Never had to deal with O/S filter on any of mine. Little sketchy on that one. I even purged the fuel into a bowl after I swapped the FFM before running it.

If I go outside right now it will probably start right up and seem ok but then I'll go a few hundred feet up the road and the truck will die. Then it will crank for awhile like it ran out of fuel then I got to hold it at 2500+ rpm to keep it running but it bucks violently then it'll smooth out a little but could stall again. Thought those codes were pretty much Death , no ?

Kenny have you fitted a temporary gage to it to monitor lift output while running, almost sounds like snotty sock starvation at this point, also air in fuel from rotted line sucking in wind, remove the fuel cap for a test that will break any vaccuum on tank and overcome hard vacuum sucking air thru a bad spot in fuel line.

air leaks can cause all sorts of codes, especially those. And since its strange you had the 18 without the 17 I would certainly point to it..

The next time you might get a set of different codes, like 17, 19, and 36.

Well I intended to put a gauge on it tonight but I spent my son's Bday tonight getting the Lemon towed home again...
I got to get that CUCV soon. I need reliable wheels.

how much pressure should I use ? My air compressor shuts off at 175 psi(obviously too much)

only a couple of psi maybe 10 max, take cap off the fuel fill so you don't risk pressurizing the tank.

Once in a bind on side of road I used one of those tire inflator compressors to blow the snot off the sock, had to do it a couple of times to get where I was going,

good thing about a lift presuure/IP inlet gauge you can see when restriction is starting to happen
